I thought I'd share images from yesterday. L-clockwise: Taggart enjoying the beautiful day; Braided onions, grown right here; Claudette (and Crystal, waaaay in the background) keeping Tag and me company; Freshly baked Farmhouse Bread loaves and buns; Bella inspecting our west field; And, newly opened hollyhocks.
I wish I could also share the smells with you. Well, most of them, anyway. Freshly harvested onions, homemade bread and flowers come to mind.
I also refilled the hummingbird feeders, cleaned up the kitchen after baking, and made dinner. These are just a few of the things that completely fulfill and restore me. I love being a homemaker. Do you? What are your feelings about that role?
I'm working in the garden for a bit today. Then, I'm heading to the studio to pull out some threads to finish my Everlasting quilt top. It's time! Pictures to follow...
Cute pictures.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, I love the smell of homemade bread.
Have fun working on the quilt top!

Thanks, Marilyn. You're right. I especially notice it when I go outdoors and then come back into the house. Nothing says "home" like baking bread.

I wonder if, one day, there will be smell-o-vision on our computers? That would be fun (mostly)
ReplyDeleteHi MA:
DeleteThat would really be a hoot! You're right ("mostly"). lol

Sherry of createology: I do like being a homemaker. I also like a break from it…hubby is a very fussy eater three times each day. Love your collage of photos. We have a gorgeous day today in spite of the triple digit 100+ heat. I have never embraced air conditioning like I do living here!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry:
DeleteI really do, too. Just about the time I think I need a break, Handsome suggests a night out. He does have perfect timing. Having lived in the humid, tropical climate of Florida, I know what you mean about embracing a/c. We did, too. I'm glad that we don't have the extra electric expense this year (it's been cool enough that we haven't needed a/c but once so far), too! Stay cool, my friend. I can tell how much you enjoy it from your posts. wink
