Well, it's that time of year again...

Turkey leftovers, draggin' out the Christmas decorations and takin' pictures for our annual Christmas card.

First, we all had to get into our positions. Mom had to help me 'cuz I couldn't get on the waterfall myself. Of course, the water was turned off so we didn't all get soaked.

I was pretty sure I wasn't gonna fall in, but I wasn't sure Mom wouldn't fall in and take me with her! The Black Dog wasn't sure what to expect. She stuck pretty close to Dad.

I thought I'd toss a couple of ringers into the mix, so when Uncle Rick was ready to take a picture of us, I first turned the opposite way from everybody else. Yup. That's a picture they won't use!

I can't show you any of the actual good pictures. Mom said we have to save them for closer to Christmas to share. We really did get a few good ones though. Heck. Even Bella Butt looked good once she knew she was safe on our perch! You'll just have to trust me until you see 'em. It won't be long. Cross my heart.

I'm gonna head to the kitchen. I think I hear turkey leftovers bein' offered! I better put on my best "Good Corgi/Sweet Corgi" look if I'm gonna score a schnibble or two!

Gettin' Down To Business...

I nearly completed the wallet to match the tote I finished on Friday. (I did take a little time off for the holiday, but worked in the studio most of the weekend.)

All the parts and pieces are sewn into the wallet, and all that's left is to sew up the sides to finish it. The set will be on its way to a new home by tomorrow.

I designed this label for my Corgi-themed projects about three years ago, and have frequently used it in many of my projects. Now that I'm embroidering "Brynwood" onto the back of these Corgi wallets, I'm installing these labels into the interior in front of one set of credit card slots.

From this sale - and through 2016 - if this label appears on a finished piece, the buyer will know that 5% of the proceeds from sales will be donated to CorgiAid. I will be doing more research to locate a charity that is involved directly in DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) research, and may split funds between CorgiAid and a research charity in the future.

Once I finish this wallet, I have a queue of other orders to fill. Today is the last day to order custom orders in my Etsy shop for Christmas delivery. Everything already on the books will be finished this week.

Handsome has a Christmas concert in Venice this evening, so I'll be quitting work a little earlier than usual today. This is my Birthday week, too!!! A little work - a little play...I can already tell this is going to be a great week!

I have two orders for tote and wallet sets. This one will be Corgis. (The next is going to be embroidered with Spinones!) I'll make the wallet for the set today, so I can mail it out on Monday morning.

I always know when it's time to take a break or leave the studio for the night. Sweet faces come in to let me know. Sometimes it's Handsome to tell me I've been back there long enough for one day. Other times, Tag will come and nudge me until I get dinner for him or take him outside. Then, there's this cutie. 

 

She quietly creeps into my space in search of flip flops under my sewing machine (I prefer to sew barefoot), or something else she can steal. Sometimes, she just wants a snuggle before trotting off to the front of the house to see where Handsome is - or bug Tag. It doesn't much matter to a nine month old puppy, as long as she's on the move. This time of year, I wish I had her energy!

Each year, our dear friend, Richard takes our annual Christmas photo. It was a perfect day for posing outside this year. Of course, we took our Thanksgiving photos with him, too. 

He and Handsome have been friends since fourth grade, and he lives about four miles from us. He stood up in our wedding and he's family to both of us. We're so glad we could spend the afternoon and evening with him again.

We received calls from family members far away, and friends near and far. We shared weather reports and watched football. (Our team lost. sigh)

 Taking the turkey out of the oven is always a little like opening a gift.

The right temperature for the right amount of time, and this fourteen pound bird was perfect this year. There was enough meat, dressing and sides for our dinner; leftovers for Richard to take home; two dinners I delivered to a friend while the guys did cleanup; and still more for turkey sandwiches on the weekend!

Rick always brings dessert. This year, it was a beautiful pumpkin pie topped with pecans and caramel. It tasted as good as it looked (of course).

We are blessed indeed.
I hope all of you had a wonderful day, too.

I have been sewing the past few days (except yesterday), so I'll share my projects with you tomorrow. I never do "Black Friday", preferring the quiet of my studio to the craziness of the shops. In keeping with that, I'll be happily completing projects that will be shipped to customers early next week.

Just as choosing the proper hardware. I installed goldtone hardware this time, and a charm from a vintage bracelet. It looks like a lacquered slice of wood. I especially liked it because the fabric reminds me of Autumn leaves.   This wristlet is already listed in my Etsy shop in case you'd like to own it. Oh, and Tag can't wait to visit with you tomorrow!
