Hi, Everybody!
I've got a cute story for you today. It's a story about Stoopid Cat #1. Are you ready? Let's get to it, then.
On Sunday, Mom and Dad took a little trip to Madison, and we canine types went along for the ride. It was really nice. The cats were left behind to guard the place.
When we got home, Mom noticed that Mr. Andy was up workin' in his barn with all the doors open. She says she made a mental note of that, as SC #1 likes to hang out in our barn when the doors are open, and Mr. Andy has seen her up there before.
We were all glad to be home from our trip, so after takin' a little potty break (just the dogs. Not Mom and Dad, silly!), we all headed inside. Mom went outside to feed the barn cats right away, 'cuz it was already about 6 o'clock "feed me" time. Dad took care of us dogs.
When Mom went out, there was only one demandin' puss (Crystal Pants), and no Claudette. Mom called, and even though both the girls would usually come runnin', there was no Claudette. Mom walked out in the rain to our garage to make sure puss hadn't sneaked into the barn when we drove in. Nope. No kittypuss. So, Mom went back inside to get out of the rain.
About 9 pm, the black and white still hadn't shown up, so Mom sent a text message up to Miss Shelly to ask if they'd mind if she came up to see if Claudette was in their barn. Mr. Andy said he'd check. He's real nice and neighborly like that. He called down the hill to tell Mom he could hear Claudette meowing, but couldn't see her, so Mom walked up the hill to call her cat again.
It kept rainin' and she didn't see or hear Claudette, so they figured she'd either holed up in a safe place, or ran out one door, while Mom was goin' in the other. Mr. Andy gave her a ride on his 4-wheeler back to the house. They passed Crystal on the way down, so when Mom was dropped off, Mr. Andy turned around and headed back up the hill.
He could hear Mom callin' for her cat, and shouted that he'd passed her on his way back home. Mom called again, and Claudette bounced out of the weeds and came runnin'. When Crystal saw her, she rubbed all over her Mom like she was askin', "Where have you been?". Claudette tolerated the attention for a little while and then decided she wanted dinner. Mom was happy and went back into the house.
Of course, after Mom tucked us in Sunday night, she went outside to tuck in the two barn cats, too. They always cuddle and purr at her when she gives 'em goodnight belly rubs. I admit, it's pretty sweet.
I wonder how long it will be before one of those two stoopid cats gets stuck up in Mr. Andy's barn again. Do you think they've learned their lessons, or not? I'm votin' "not". After all, they are stoopid cats.
I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...
At least the lost was found and that's good! Cats are curious so I suppose she was checking out the alternate accommodations and, by your report, found them lacking.
ReplyDeleteHi Miss MA:
DeleteYep. She's found alright. She hung out with me in the yard for a while today. She's stickin' kinda close for now. She seems pretty curious about me. She tried rubbin' up against me again. EWWW! Kitty germs! lol

Sherry of createology: Hello Tag. My you do have the best stories to tell. Cats are very curious so Claudette probably just wandered into Andy’s barn to see if there were any mice she could help get rid of. So happy all is well and where they should be. See you next week my little Corgi Cutie!
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Sherry!
DeleteI'm glad you like 'em! Mom says I get carried away sometimes. You know, "TMI". I think I could get a lot more descriptive, but I hold back to keep Mom happy. I'm considerate that way. I'd bet money that Claudette got at least one mouse. Heck, Mom looked out the window while she was brushin' her teeth this mornin', to see Claudette hoppin' around in the yard. Mom tore down the stairs, and when she got to the yard, Claudette was holdin' somethin' in her mouth. Mom talked real sweet to her, and when she got close, the stoopid cat dropped a live chipmunk. The chippie started crawlin' around, tryin' to get it's bearin's, while Mom was tryin' to save it by scoopin' it up...and the cat's tryin' to grab it again. Talk about a comedy show! Well, the chipmunk ran up the tree; Mom grabbed Claudette so she wouldn't follow it; and Dad was laughin' watchin' Mom in the yard in her nightgown. In the end, everybody was just fine, and Mom gave Claudette and Crystal their breakfasts so they'd leave the locals alone. It's a riot a minute around here.
