Brynwood Needleworks - Table Mat - WIP |
I'm not sure why these two images have such a color difference. I took them within minutes of each other. The actual linen color is closer to the image on the right, than the one on the left.
I'm planning to add vintage lace along the border, and have chosen the backing fabric from one of the new fabrics from Brenda Riddle. What do you think? You like? Not on the right track? Hope you'll share a little feedback before I start hand sewing the crocheted edge. Thanks in advance.
I like it, it's a great idea.
ReplyDeleteLove that trim.

Hi Marilyn:
DeleteThank you! I'm going through some of my vintage crocheted laces to see if I have something a little more rustic. I hope to make a choice and get it finished over the weekend. We'll see.
Hope you'll have a restful Saturday and Sunday. This weather is the best.

I like it, but I'm curious about something....do you have any wider lace that you could test on it, just to see what it might look like?
ReplyDeleteHi MA;
DeleteI actually do! I think that's a great idea, and will see if I have something pretty that will work. I'll share more after the weekend. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think it is beautiful. Can’t wait to see the finish.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea:
DeleteThanks so much!
Happy Weekend.

I think the lace needs to be between the layers not up on top.
ReplyDeleteHi Charlene:
DeleteI couldn't agree more. However, I managed to leave some ink (I thought it would disappear, but I can't get it out, and now I have to cover it up. face palm) I'm actually embarrassed to admit it. I should have known better. ugh
Maybe I should just frame this piece this time, and forgo the lace altogether?
I'm open to suggestions.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'm second guessing myself now,so I really appreciate your input.
