If you've been reading my blog at all this year, you'll know all of the things that have happened in our family in the past ten months. Yesterday, Handsome ended up back in the hospital.
I'll know more today when I go to see him, but I'm thinking he'll be there at least through the weekend. This trip was unplanned. He woke up telling me he'd been ill overnight, and he was feeling sore. Same symptoms he's experienced before that resulted in a three week stay in Boston the first time; a week in the hospital after he first moved to the farmhouse; a surgery two years ago (which we thought would be a permanent solution); and now back in the hospital this weekend (apparently, it wasn't a permanent solution).
Can I cry "Uncle" and just move to 2021? I've really had enough of this year. We jokingly called it a "rebuilding year", with his knee replacement, hernia surgery, then, Covid-19, losing my Dad, and my two recent surgeries. It's not remotely funny anymore.
I'll spend part of the day with him, and then come home to take care of the dogs and me. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed right now. Any spare prayers or good thoughts you might have would be immensely appreciated. Thanks so much.
My thoughts are with you. I hope that Handsome recovers quickly from this setback. Do look after yourself since you need more time to heal both mentally and physically. This year has been difficult for us all, so I can sympathise with your wish to get past 2020.
ReplyDeleteDear Mandy:
DeleteThank you so much for your kind words. I'm sure I'm not alone in this sentiment. Prayers for you and yours as we all move toward the end of a difficult year.

I may not comment very often, but I do read your blog regularly, and have said many prayers for you and your family this year and in years past. I can’t help but think there are others just like me doing the same thing.
ReplyDeleteDear Momto1:
DeleteYou have no idea how my heart was warmed by your comment today. I'm so grateful to see that you read my posts, and more, that you have said prayers for me and those I love. Your kind message means the world to me.

Oh No! Prayers for a speedy recovery. And Hugs for you. It's not much consolation, but be very very happy that you are able to visit him in the hospital. Our hospital did not allow any visitors when my DH was in earlier this year.
ReplyDeleteDear Sunny:
DeleteThanks so much for your kind words. He's finally back home and doing so much better. Thanks also for the surprise you mailed. I'll be sure to put everything to good use.
Sending big hugs!

Dear Donna, I've read your blog for years now and love Tags Tuesdays, but I've never commented before. Sorry for that. Prayers for Handsome and you, I pray that healing will follow you both for the rest of the year and 2021 will be special and make up for this year. God bless Love Mandy xx
ReplyDeleteDear Mandy:
DeleteWhat a delightful surprise to read your comment today. I'm so gratified to think that you've been reading my posts for so long, and Tag loves that you read about his antics every week. No need to apologize! I hope you'll continue to write to me from time to time. All these years later, I've finally figured out (with a little help from my friends) how to leave a reply to comments!
Handsome is doing so much better. All the prayers really helped. I'm sure there's at least one more surgery in my future, which I hope will be yet this year, so I can start 2021 with a clean slate! Thank you so much for your prayers and good thoughts.
God Bless you, too, my dear.
xoxo
Donna, Handsome, and Tag, too! (We'll save Bella and Carly for another time. wink)
