A Few More Flowers...

I accomplished quite a bit this weekend, but not much in the way of stitching. I added a few more blue buds, and started the lavender ones. I'll still have leaves and a few other blossoms and the ribbon "flourishes" to add, but then I'll be able to assemble the sachet.

Should I add lavender to the wool stuffing when I assemble this one? I'm contemplating that as I stitch. I'll find a fun wool to use for the leaves, too. Perhaps by Thursday I'll have it done.

I think the heat is finally on the way out, so we've opened the windows again. It's nice to hear what's going on outside, instead of listening to the constant whirrrrr of the window air conditioners (to say nothing of the electric meter!).

I hope you have a wonderful week this week.

  1. Great progress, it's beautiful.
I am also tired of having the AC on constantly.
    Hopefully it will cool down.

    1. Hi Marilyn:
If our weather is any indication, I'm sure you opened the windows by late day Monday. It was perfect and cool here. I love it! Windows are open and A/C units are all off!
      Enjoy today, my dear.

  2. You do beautiful work, Donna. Here in Central Texas the AC will stay on for a long time. Enjoy your mild days. I'm looking forward to October!

    1. Hi Mary:
Thank you so much, dear. I can imagine what you're going through. I saw the weather in sw Florida right now and thanking the Lord that we moved back north. I'd be on pins and needles - or possibly a life boat! I do prefer high ground. I hope your heat breaks soon to give you some relief. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

  3. Beautiful stitchery - as always! I'm sure whoever gets it would love lavender because most people like it. Not me, however - I like it, but it sets off my allergies.

    1. Hi MA:
If you're allergic, perhaps that's a reason not to add it. I'd hate to turn anyone away because it's scented. I suppose I could attach a small bag to the stem if someone wanted it. Thanks for your thoughts, dear. Hugs,

    2. I think I'm in a distinct minority because I've never heard of anyone else who has a sensitivity to lavender (lilacs and Easter lilies too).

  4. Just beautiful, great progress.
My AC won't be off any time soon.
And don't even mention the rain and storms.

    1. Hi Shirley:
I was just looking at the national weather map and know that you've got more on the way. I'll keep you in my prayers, dear, as I know how disconcerting the bad weather can be. And it usually brings more heat and humidity behind it. Dang hurricanes really mess up states in their path even after they're downgraded. Thanks for the compliment, too!
