Tuesdays With Tag - This and That...

Hi, Everybody!

First off...Is everybody stayin' warm around your part of the world? It's really startin' to get chilly here now. Good thing I've got my fur coat (even if I do look scruffy these days!). I'm real glad I'm a house dog with a nice, warm place to sleep at night.

By now, you know that every day around here begins with Mom and Dad drinkin' a cup of coffee (or tea), and our routine is pretty much the same from day to day. We go outside to do our business, get our mornin' pills - or plain peanut butter in my case - and then Mom and Dad pour their cuppa and move into the livin' room to discuss the plans of the day. Once they've downed that cup, it's time for the important part...feedin' us!

While I'm bidin' my time coolin' my heals as I wait for breakfast, these two engage in their mornin' ritual of shenanigans. Don't ask. I'll just hint that it involves serious face-wrestling. Momma is in the back and The Kid is in the front. They could carry on like this for hours! Just look at 'em. They think they're starvin'.

I went outside a few days ago, only to find these perfect ice formations all over our driveway. Doesn't this look like flowers to you? It did me. The interesting thing is that their was no new precipitation, and the night before the concrete was clear. It wasn't slippery, but I still watched the ground. These images just popped overnight, and left me thinkin' about how this pattern was chosen to highlight Mother Nature's artistic skills.

Of course, whenever Mom's outside, the felines are close hand. Mom did somethin' for them, too. When she went to the barn, even though it's insulated from the wind, it was still stinkin' cold. I brainstormed with her about how to keep the welfare clients warmer, when Mom had a eureka! moment. She grabbed one of her wax warmers from her Scentsy, but made sure not to leave any wax residue in the top so the girls wouldn't get sick.

Once outdoors, Mom opened up the dresser and ran a longer electric power to the dresser habitat. Then she put the warmer inside the dresser. Crystal checked things out, and then ran off. Claudette, however, was all in...literally. She crawled into her evening acccommodations, checked out the warmer, and then tucked herself into her bed for the evening. I'm sure once Mom left. Crystal joined her mother in the warmer accommations. Better there than here, I tell ya. The warmer was already adding warmth to their space.

That's all that's goin' on around here these days. I'm sure most of you have trees up and are waitin' for the holiday festivities to commence. Mom has a wreath on the front door. whoop dee do. I think Mom and Dad are decidin' how much decoratin' to do this year. We know Mom will be the one takin' it down after the holidays. Dad doesn't want her to get hurt doin' it on her own, so I'll let you know what they decide - and maybe even have pictures. I'm gonna run for now.

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...

  2. Those ice formations would be wonderful printed onto fabric. You and the girls are extremely lucky to have a nice warm place to stay and good meals (even though they don't come when you think they should!).

    1. Hi Miss MA:
I'm gonna tell Mom you said that! You think that was bad? This mornin' Dad had to go to the dentist. Mom got busy with her project and when he got home at 1 o'clock he asked if she'd fed us. You shoulda seen the look on her face! We were starvin'...almost skin and bone! She gave us LOTS of treats durin' the day to say she was sorry. It's gonna be a while before she lives this one down.
      Smooches,

    2. Oh poor Tag - surely she should have noticed you practically wasting away to a shadow!

  3. Sherry of createology: Good Morning Tag. It is a cool 32F here at 7:45am. I’m going out to my watercolor painting class this morning. It will be a very chilly walk from the parking garage to my class down two flights of stairs and across the street to go up another two flights of stairs. City planners…what do they know? I have no fur to keep me warm but I do have a nice coat to wear. XO

    1. Hi Miss Sherry:
You'd think they would have given you a tunnel or covered bridge. What were they thinkin'? Hope you didn't freeze. Coats like mine are hard to come by.
