More soft, cozy jammies. This time flannel for grandson. Handsome thinks they're outstanding. Good thing I purchased plenty to make a pair for him, too! (mum's the word)
I purchased a black, knit Henley for him to wear with these, in case he's cold or needs to be covered (dorm room). It's actually easier and less expensive than if I make it for him. I've done that it the past, but it's more frugal to purchase the tops for him now. Plus that style shirt can be worn during the day with jeans, too. It's not just suitable for pajamas.
I haven't decided whether today will be for painting cabinets or baking. I'll make a call up to our carpenter's house to see if the heat is on in his workshop so I can wield a brush. If he's not going to be home, I'll bake.
Happy Christmas Eve Weekend!
That plaid flannel looks so cozy.
ReplyDeleteEither way, I'm sure you will be busy today!

Our boys love flannel PJ bottoms but I never thought of purchasing them shirts to go with. Hmmm....taking that one under advisement!
ReplyDeleteHi MA:
DeleteBecause I'm never sure just how much our guy wears at night, I cover all the bases. lol I suspect he doesn't wear a shirt to bed, but...
Happy Christmas Eve Eve.

Our guys wear theirs all the time - as soon as they come home from work they change into them and now RC and I have adopted the same practice. Sure saves on our 'good' clothes!
DeleteThat is a very handsome print! Donna, would you mind sharing what pattern you use for your jammies? Have you used the same pattern for many years? Does it have pockets? (I'm sorry if you have already shared this info elsewhere, I'm not able to locate it.) I've been using one pattern (making many alterations 🙄) for a few years, and it is fine, but, I'm not absolutely thrilled with it. Wouldn't mind learning from your experience... (and, of course, I'm asking on Christmas Eve eve 😆 so any input can obviously wait until a later time)Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Lois:
DeleteI'm happy to share. I always write on the pattern envelope which years I've used it, so here goes...Simplicity D0834 - Classic Slim Cut PJ bottoms with fly front. Our guy is a "gym rat" who eats almost no sugar, and he's tall like his grandpa, hence the slim cut. He turned 22 today, and aside from length and a bit in the waist, I've used this pattern since 2017. I also have Simplicity 1504 that's Easy-to-Sew, no fly, just elastic, and that pattern is for the entire family, with night shirts (long and short), and pants. Lots of buttons on the shirts, but my Destiny always rises to the occasion. I buy shirts if I'm not in the mood to sew all the buttons, though. Hope that helps, dear.
Happy Christmas Eve Eve.

DeleteI have one other men/boys pattern I've used in the past. It's McCall's 9638. It's a father/son set of patterns that includes pants, shorts, long and short sleeve shirts, plus a robe. Pants style is elastic waist for both. Maybe next week I'll share photos of all three patterns, along with the nightie pattern I used for the ladies.

Sherry of createology: Oh that plaid flannel is very handsome looking. Purchasing a Henley shirt is very wise. I cannot imagine painting cabinets two days before Christmas but then you are a Wizard at everything dear. I think you might have the very Magic Harry Potter wand. Hmmm…
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry:
DeleteI woke up to heavy fog and news that both our son's houses have sick people, so all our Christmas plans have been cancelled. Handsome and I will spend entire holiday with the dogs and cats...and each other. (insert hearts) The crown roast will be frozen for another time when loved ones feel better. So, I didn't paint either. I have time, so I spent the day baking bread and making up baking mixes to give as gifts. It was a good day. I'll paint after Christmas.
Happy Christmas Eve Eve.

Those flannel PJ's are definitely a rival for the LL Bean flannel PJ's.
ReplyDeletePainting cabinets two days before Christmas would be the last thing on my mind, but it sure would give you a head start on the pantry. Painting or baking, you're always moving.

Hi Shirley:
DeleteI like the comparison to the LL Bean pjs!! Thanks! I blew off painting today. My heart wasn't in it. I'll do that after Christmas. I baked bread and packaged up homemade baking mixes (brownies, gluten-free scone mix, cornbread muffins, and basic muffin mix). I'll share more about those next week.
Happy Christmas Eve Eve!
