Take It Easy...

Monday was spent doing mostly nothing. I kept the outside girls company for part of the day, and paid lots of attention to the pups and Handsome. I tended my garden for a bit, and then did a little needlework. I set the stitching aside when my hand started to bother me. I was taking it easy.

We both had hair appointments right in the middle of the day yesterday, so even though Handsome told me "we need more bread", that had to wait until today. After our appointments, Handsome and I took all the pups outside and I tended my garden. Tomatoes have buds, peas have sprouted, green peppers are looking healthy, and my radishes were ready to thin. My plans today are bread and laundry. That should keep me plenty busy. If there's time left later, I'll continue to work on this piece.

What do you have planned for the day? Do you have a garden this year? Perhaps a needlework piece is holding your attention these days? I'd love to know!

    1. Hi Marilyn:
I'm cleaning house today. We have a brighter outlook when our homes are clean, don't we?
      Have a great weekend stitching.

  2. Taking time to recharge and not over-stressing our hands is a good thing. After a grocery run I hope to work on an applique project.

  3. Having a down time day is always a good thing - as long as it's by choice and not forced upon you.
We don't have a garden per se, but Resident Chef has pots on the balcony with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, peppers and some herbs. He allows me to have a fuschia because I always hope for hummingbirds.
As for needlework projects - I'm working on another landscape and have torn the much-mended feet off a pair of his socks and planning to reknit the bottoms. Yarn won't match but he's not fussy.

    1. Hi MA:
Your container garden sounds delightful! I hope hummingbirds visit your fuschia. They're wonderful little birds. Mending socks by rebuilding them sounds like a commendable pursuit. Although I've knit socks, I've yet to mend a pair. (I think I could. lol) Hope you and Resident Chef have a wonderful weekend, dear.

  4. Hi Donna - does sound like you are keeping busy. Your needlework as always is beautiful. Yes I have a garden but we need rain desperately - have been watering but it needs a good soaking from the Lord! Take care and have a great week.

  5. That piece is beautiful, great colors.
Today was mostly a nothing day for me, which is amusing because I'm constantly moving and doing something, it's just if it isn't a big project it seems like nothing to me.
Our air is quite smokey from the Canadian wildfires.

    1. Hi Shirley:
Looks like you can have a little rest, too. You're like me. Always busy. I'm praying for all those in the wake of those fires. We haven't had any of the effects that many in the northern states are experiencing. Take care, and I hope you have a great weekend.

  6. Sherry of createology: You sure do keep busy. I helped hubby clean the Porcelain floors (which I do not like at all!). Both of us have very bad backs so it is no fun at all. Your gardens are coming along nicely.

    1. Hi Sherry:
I found two things that made a huge difference for me for cleaning floors...I purchased one of those two-compartment buckets that has a step-on mop spinner that gets the mop dry after rinsing, and a long handled steam cleaner. I can't believe how much easier the task went. It was wonderful not having to get on my hands and knees! I hope you have a great weekend, dear.
