Brynwood Needleworks - Brynwood Strawberry Rose Sachet |
February is National Embroidery Month.
I'm going to spend the entire day embroidering today...and make a point of sitting with needle in hand at least a few hours a day for the rest of this month. How about you? I'd love to know what you're working on.
I don’t do embroidery but I would love to. It’s one of my project . The embroidery you did is with ribbons ? It is very delicate.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
Hi Catherine:
DeleteYes, this is my free form ribbon embroidery. I love working on my strawberries. If you put "Strawberry Rose Sachet" into the search bar (below my "Embrace" button ---> over there), you can see other embroideries I've done on them. I hope you decide to try your hand at embroidery. You might find that you love it and can't put it down! Thanks so much for your note.

Beautiful Strawberries.
ReplyDeleteI stitch everyday.
I did a bathroom re-do, got rid of the 2 dark rose colors on the walls & ceiling.
Had to paint it all 2 times. The bottom of the walls were sponge painted.
Painted it a light neutral color, & decorate it with Turtles.
Right now I am stitching a small Turtle design to put on the counter in a mermaid tail dish.

Hi Marilyn:
DeleteI'd love to see photos when it's finished! I bet it's going to be lovely, my dear.
Stay warm!

Wouldn't it be fun to contemplate being able to embroider all day every day for an entire month? I'm not doing much embroidery at the moment - at least not until I get my cataracts fixed. That issue is sure cramping my style!!!
ReplyDeleteDear MA:
DeleteI'd be in sheer heaven! I see cataract surgery in my future, too. Guess it's one of the "perks" of "maturing". Handsome had it done last winter, and he's so glad he did. He said the difference in his vision is amazing. He didn't realize that with the cataracts, the world had slowly become more "yellow". I'm sure you'll be surprised at the improvement, too.

I'm so looking forward to being able to see, even though I have a form of astigmatism that means I won't be able to see without glasses. I *could* have a way more costly form of surgery (over $3000 per eye) that would be able to totally fix my sight but for that amount of money I can buy a LOT of glasses. I've worn them since I was 6 and still would need to wear them for reading and computer/stitching work so I'm happily settling for just getting rid of the film. Glad to hear Handsome had a good result and that he's happy. Now I just have to hope covid restrictions don't increase and put a stop to elective surgeries again.
DeleteI haven't been doing much embroidering lately, but have totally become addicted to counted cross stitch again. My sewing is suffering because of this addiction. That being said, I better get downstairs to the sewing machine.....
ReplyDeleteHi Sunny:
DeleteIsn't it wonderful to have the skill like this to enjoy whenever you feel like it? I still remember the very first time I saw someone doing counted cross stitch. I was captivated with the detail, and knew I had to learn this. It was just the beginning. Before long, I not only learned, but opened a shop to teach others. Some days I sure have a hard time deciding what to do next. I love that I decided to incorporated needlework into my quilting. It's the best of both worlds!
Thanks for the note.
