I Can't Stop...

I finished two more wallets yesterday! I have so much fun with these...thinking up new combinations, choosing fabrics and putting them together to create a useful and beautiful result. It's like playtime for me!

This is my latest wallet. I've named it "Just Call Me Bossy". This is another nod to my Wisconsin roots.
Sweet bovine faces, inside and out. I love their peachy-pink noses, too. I chose a fabric that would bring out that peachy color. It's like they're standing in a field of flowers.
Finally, I chose more coordinating fabrics from the same line (from 2002) and got to work play until it was all done. This makes #10 (so far).
I shared the exterior of #9 on Thursday. This one is called "Evening Garden", remember? Before I finished #10, I needed to finish #9. I just had to put the zippered pocket and divider on the inside to complete it.
Voila! Wallet accompli'.
Today is going to start early for me, but it will be a whole lot of fun. I'm getting on a bus with a group of ladies from the guild to head across the state to the World Quilt Show in West Palm Beach.

I'm looking forward to learning new things, doing a little shopping and seeing lots of incredible quilts! A fun day with great gals. I'll tell you all about it next week.

Gotta run. I don't want to miss my ride!

  2. Your eye for coordinating fabrics is supreme. These cows are very happy in their field of flowers. And a field trip for you sounds wonderful. I know you will have a fabulous day!

  4. You're really cranking out the wallets! I've loved all of them so far!

I finally got out my Classmates pattern and fabric that I picked up when we were shopping last summer, and made it this weekend. You were right - it was pretty addictive, and now I think I'll make a couple more. I just have to sew the binding down and then I'm done. I did every possible thing wrong on this project, so the next ones should be a breeze in comparison!

Will we be seeing a wallet or two in that pretty Japanese fabric you picked up?
