Studio Time...

Brynwood Needleworks - "Flora and Fauna" Zip Bags

I finally spent a few hours in the studio over the weekend. It was really nice to concentrate on a project, and then work until I completed it (them).

I created two "Flora and Fauna" cork zip bags for our granddaughters. I placed their handknit socks inside each one, along with a few other goodies. They'll be able to use them for anything they'd like. Makeup or art supplies. Who knows?

We'll see them on January 3rd, and I'll look forward to their reactions when they seem them. Both are nature girls, so I think the print on the cork fabric will be a winner. I backed each one in a different color cork (and lining print) so they'll be able to tell them apart.

Baking cookies again today. Simple pleasures. Homekeeping, and creating with love. There's really nothing better.

  1. The bags are beautiful, I'm positive they will like them. :)
I'm still baking too, need to make some Banana & Pumpkin breads yet for friends.
I always bake between Christmas & New Years. :)
We don't see some people until after New Years.

    1. Hi Marilyn:
This year it's much easier for me to be in the kitchen than the studio, so everyone is getting edibles, in addition to a few handmade gifts like this. I'm gifting cookie platters, breads, and jams, which are (so far) well-received. I'm kind of liking this option, but did miss making Grammies Jammies this year.

I'm sure everyone who eats your baked goods will love them, too! Have fun in the kitchen. I'll think of you doing what I'm doing.

  2. I have absolutely no doubt the bags will be a winner. It's nice to see you're feeling up to getting back into your studio for a bit. Just be sure to take it easy!

    1. Hi, MA:
I can only be in the studio in short spurts, but I sure enjoy the time as I'm able. I'm really following doctor's orders so I can fully heal this time. Thanks for your concern.

    1. Hi, Sunny:
Thanks so much! I really sleep well on "working" days. I'm still being really careful. Heck, I have a 5# lifting limit until March! I don't want to sabotage my healing. I'm behaving big time! lol
I'll show you the cookies after they're all decorated.
      xoxo
