Brynwood Needleworks - Flora and Fauna Cork Fabric |
I actually paced myself for Christmas creations, knowing that I had a little extra time (based on scheduled gatherings). I knew that I didn't have to have everything made by December 25th, so I held off on my plans for this fabric until this week.
I'm going to make two zippered project bags with this nature-themed cork. They can be used for everything from makeup to lunch! I'll trim them differently, so the ladies receiving them will be able to tell them apart.
I'll be in the studio today, and will share photographs on Wednesday. You know who to expect tomorrow. I'm hoping he'll tell you exactly where he explored on Christmas Day, but I'm not holding my breath. You just never know what he's going to over share. lol
Can you even believe that this is the last week of 2020? I'm ready to move on. Are you? Have you planned a New Year celebration with someone you love? As usual, Handsome and I will be home, but I'd like to plan a little something different. Do you have any good ideas for me?
That fabric is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSorry I don't have any suggestions for you.
We stay home & I make our yearly New Years steamed Lobster.
BIL gave us a bottle of Champagne, so we will pop that open too.

Dear Marilyn:
DeleteI really had fun making the gifts with this fabric! I can't wait to share it.
Lobster is my personal favorite, but Handsome isn't a fan. Perhaps a tenderloin for him, and a tail for me? Our version of "surf and turf". lol
Thanks for the idea.

Pretty fabric. We have enjoyed having a fondue party the last few years. We usually have a cheese fondue with meats, breads, and veggies and a chocolate fondue with lots of fruit and goodies.
ReplyDeleteDear Andrea:
DeleteOh, how I love fondue! I don't have a fondue set, but maybe that should be on my gift list for next year? yum! Thanks for the idea.

Someday I am going to indulge myself and splurge in some cork fabric just so I can see what it's like. It's certainly not cheap (at least not here in Canada).
ReplyDeleteAs for any suggestions for New Year's, I'm afraid I'm not much help. We don't do anything special but we will have a repeat of our Christmas junk food dinner and a wee nip of Irish Cream to finish it off. Leftovers are a wonderful thing!
Hi MA:
DeleteEmail your address to me and I'll send you a piece (or two) of cork to play with!
I always like the idea of a little New Year's cocktail. Once I decide on a menu, I'll come up with the proper beverage. Thanks so much for your input. Send me your address, now!

Aw, hon - how nice of you! But the postage to Canada is utterly stupid these days so I'll decline your kind offer (but with extreme thanks). One day, when the virus is over, I'll be able to get to a real live honest-to-goodness-feel-the-fabric store and I'll be able to check it out. Hugs!!!
DeleteOh that fabric! Can’t wait to hear little stinkers version of deer chasing.
ReplyDeleteHi Charlene:
DeleteIsn't it cool cork? I had so much fun cutting into it today. (Projects finished) Tag is a scamp, for sure. He really tries my patience sometimes, but I love that little guy. I'm just glad he's safe and back with me.
Thanks for the note.
xoxo
