Brynwood Shop Hop Crossbody Bag - Purple Cork/Birds

I was contacted by a client on Tuesday evening asking if/when I'd be listing up this specific cork color and bird print Shop Hop bag again. I told her I was happy to add one to my inventory so she could order it. 

I added two to my inventory Tuesday, and made them today. One is already on its way to my client, and the other is in my shop - available for purchase. I was glad to sew up two cork bags, and will be creating and listing new items in the next one to two weeks. Yesterday was a good sewing day.

Brynwood "Bryn" Wallets For The Show

 

Well, these are all finished and ready to go to my booth at the show next weekend. Today, I'll be working on Nocturne Overnight Bags.

I think that will be enough to adequately populate my booth, and give shoppers a nice selection. The hickory syrup should be a nice add-on sale, too. I expect I'll sell out of that, for sure. Some of these will be pulled from my Etsy shop (which I'll close for the weekend).

Well, friend. I know you know the drill. Feed the dogs and cats (Handsome had an appointment first thing this morning.) Morning coffee. Then, hi ho, hi ho. It's off to the studio I go! (I'll keep working this weekend.)

Brynwood Needleworks - Shop Hop Bags - Dog Theme

 

I was busy all weekend, and man, did I get a lot accomplished! I worked in the studio to complete the commission for my client, along with five more Shop Hop Crossbody Bags in the same theme. All of them are lined with colorful paw print fabric, and of course, there's a lucky penny in each one of them. 

 

These bags are more than adequate for your largest cell phones in the front zippered compartment, and the rest of your essentials will fit in the main zippered section. Each bag measures approximately 6" wide x 9" tall. The black and natural bags are cork fabric, front and back. The bag on the far right is olive green waxed canvas. (I'm really partial to that one!) Each bag is $55, plus $8 postage. If you're interested in one, you can send a private message with your email address, and I can invoice you through my completely secure Square account.

In addition to sewing in the studio, Handsome and I tackled laundry; mowed the yard before the cold weather hit; I baked bread and chocolate chip cookies; and did a little housekeeping. Whew! Let's get started on the new week, so I can rest a bit!

Corgi Shop Hop Crossbody Bag...

Brynwood Needleworks - Corgi Shop Hop Crossbody Bag

 

This one turned out so cute! I couldn't love the design more. I mean...What's cuter than a corgi butt? I'm working on a number of these in different colors, along with the paw print embroidery I shared yesterday. 

 

These are a perfect size (6" wide x 9-1/2" tall) with a zippered front pocket; a top zipper closure; and a back slip pocket. I think this olive cork color, chosen by my client, is a great color, too!

 

I'll be putting this one in the mail today, and then heading back to the studio to work on more. Working On New Pieces...

Brynwood Needleworks - Dog-Themed Embroideries

 

I'm running multiple embroideries right now, preparing new pieces and fulfilling orders. Some will be available in my shop later this week. Some will be Shop Hop Crossbody Bags, and the others will be a new style clutch. Fun times.

Our porch project is nearly finished, so I'll be taking photographs to share with you in the next day or so. The weather is supposed to fall apart, so I'm hoping to be able to get good shots before it does. I can tell you that the rails really finish off the project beautifully. Every time Handsome and I go outside, we have to stand and admire our new porch. Lots of smiles these days.

A Little Work, A Little Play...

Brynwood Needleworks - Farmhouse Applesauce

 

Handsome and I had a great weekend together. The old apple tree across the drive has been dropping a lot of apples since our windy weather last week. We decided to pick up the windfalls (1-1/2 five gallon pails-full) and make some applesauce (there's another jar in the fridge).

 

On Saturday, we put up nearly ten quarts of it, and we'll do more later in the week (having already collected another 1-1/2 buckets). It will be nice to be able to enjoy it once it gets cooler outside.

Brynwood Needleworks - Harry Potter Shop Hop Crossbody Bag

 

Before making applesauce, I created this Harry Potter-themed BW Shop Hop Crossbody bag for Granddaughter #1. It's black cork, lined with Harry Potter™ licensed fabric inside. Destiny embroidered the Deathly Hallows logo on the exterior in matching black thread for a subtle design element. 

 

I ordered special pulls for this bag, but they didn't arrive in time for me to gift it to her on Sunday, so I'll be making more like this for the shop, but with the new pulls. I'll show those to you soon. 

 

We presented it to our granddaughter last night, and she loved it! (yay) She said it would be just the size she needs when she goes back to school in September. Seeing her smile was quite heartwarming. Granddaughter #2 loved her Hands-free Hipster, too. She got hers in time for her birthday ten days ago. Two handmade gifts. Two appreciative and happy Birthday girls. One really happy grandma.

 

Tag will definitely be here to visit with you tomorrow. Believe me, I won't forget. He's been giving me grief all week over forgetting him. I'll have porch renovation progress photos on Wednesday...after Tag visits with you. I have no idea what he plans to say, but I'm going to guess it'll be good. We shall see...

Brynwood Needleworks - Vinage Hibiscus/Natural & Vintage Hibiscus "Bryn" Wallets

It was a day of accomplishment. I completed two new Bryn Wallets for my shop, and I'm loving this style. The top one is Vintage Hibiscus/Natural cork fabric, and the bottom one is all Vintage Hibiscus.

This fabric is no longer available, so when I use up the last of my stock of this fabric, it will be gone for good. I can't get any more of it, so my current stock is precious to me.

I like the flip locks on these wallets. They're sleek and low profile. I'll be using more of these in the future.

Inside you'll find twelve credit card slots; a zippered coin section; two interior pockets; and a compartment, held closed by a snap-closure security tab. These are currently wallets, but I can make them crossbody bags if the customer prefers that. You can choose from a cork or chain crossbody strap for an additional cost.

These will be listed in my online shop (along with the three I completed earlier in the week) tomorrow. You may use the Christmas In July discount to purchase them, too!

  I've added a slip pocket to the back of this one, and will probably be adding it to each one I create in the future.

It's been really hot here, and it's currently raining and blowing outside. I think I'll stay indoors today. I always have studio projects, and when I tire of sitting at the machines, I can always put my feet up and stitch. Either way, it's going to be a lovely day - indoors.
 

I'm Feeling A Little Cross-Eyed...

Brynwood Needleworks -  New Patterns

 

I spent the entire day in my studio yesterday...at my computer. I began by editing my photos from making the chicken pincushions and my new Shop Hop Crossbody Bag. Then, I began the long and intense process (at least for me) of writing the patterns to create them.

If I missed a step in my sewing images, I went back to the machine and recreated it for the pattern. I spent an entire eight hours going back and forth, and then asking Handsome to proof my copy for me. Thankfully, I only had one typo, and a paragraph written when I was near the end, that made absolutely no sense. It's all fixed now, and these are ready to market in the next few days.

I have one more pattern to write, but I'm going to need to make another model, photographing as I go, before I can begin to work up the pattern. It's supposed to rain today, so I may be able to get it done.

Tonight is Handsome's first summer concert. He's going to be playing the drum set on a number of pieces. For that reason, I'm hoping the rain holds off until well into this evening. If it rains, they perform in a building at the fairgrounds. If the weather is nice, they perform in a band shell under the stars. I'm sure you know my preference, so let's cross our fingers.

My Brynwood email server will be undergoing some changes between last Thursday and the 18th of this month. It's a long, boring story, so I'm not going to share it, but if you've sent an email my way and I haven't replied to it, please know that I'm having some technical difficulties, and will do my best to locate and respond to my personal emails. 

My studio rooms look like a bomb went off in them, so cleanup may be my first order of business...or I may just go back to bed for a while. I'll decide after my morning coffee.

Meanwhile, In The Studio...

Brynwood Needleworks - Shop Hop Convertible Tote

While I'm trying to get my "updated, new and improved" webmail server back online, I've been busy in the studio. I've been working on projects for the Wisconsin Shop Hop, and more specifically, Primitive Gatherings.

Much of the fabric I'm using is exclusive to Lisa's shop, and she put out a call for participants (from our Sit & Sew group). The deadline really sneaked up on me, so it was a busy two days.

The first thing I made is a modification of the Bella Tote I've been making primarily in cork. For this bag, I mixed it up a bit. I used cork fabric on the lower part of the tote, and all of the shop hop fabrics on the upper and interior portions.

I also made it so that it looks more like a purse when it's snapped, and it becomes a market tote when the sides are unsnapped.

Because I'm creating the patterns for the pieces I'm making, I wanted to keep the hardware simple, so that anyone could easily find the supplies needed to create it.

Don't you love the interior fabric? It's the UW-Wisconsin red and white, and this fabric has all kinds of words to signify something Wisconsin.

The second piece I've created is a great little crossbody bag. I'm going to be making these for my shop, and they'll have a great price point. I'll make a few in the Wisconsin Shop Hop fabrics, but the rest will be in cork fabric. This is my own pattern, and I'm hoping to be able to teach others how to make it, too.

These bags are great to carry your larger cell phones, along with the things you usually want to keep with you. I purposely made the front pocket large enough for my iPhone, and it's plenty roomy for that.

The back of this bag is grey cork fabric. I really love the color, and it's perfect for this line of fabrics. 

 

I met my deadline, and all the pieces were delivered yesterday. In fact, they were headed straight for the photographer's. I'll write the patterns over the weekend, and convey them to the shop on Monday. Another job done. Now, if only my computer upgrade issues could be resolved so easily. Maybe today will be the day?
