I Really Need An Elf…

Nocturnes, Waiting For Assembly

Best laid plans. I’d hoped to share five completed Nocturne Overnighters today. Instead, I can show you all the parts and pieces, waiting for me this morning.

I spent 9 hours each day last weekend cutting cork and cotton fabrics, stabilizers, zippers, and pulling hardware. Then, I fused stabilizers to the required fabrics. I finished all of that at 6 pm yesterday, and didn’t have the gas to keep going. Handsome and I ate dinner and I punched out for the rest of the night.

I’ll be back at it today, and hope to have all of these sewn today. Tag will be back tomorrow, and I’ll spend Tuesday cutting the next batch of bags. I’ll show you what I accomplish on Wednesday. I’d love to stay and chat, but I’ve gotta run. I know you’ll understand.

    1. Hi Marilyn:
Thanks! I'm afraid I'm not going to get to everything on my list, but I'm going to give it my best shot. Wish me luck.

  2. Wow, I’m impressed! I can’t imagine finishing one, let alone five in one day. Take care of yourself in the midst of your sew-a-thon!

    1. Hi Andrea:
I'll be sharing all of them on Wednesday. I'm getting plenty of rest in my down time. So far, I won't be doing any overnighters, but it's early in the week!

  3. Make sure you take breaks dear. Your work is exquisite.

  4. I'm with Sherry - please remember to take breaks or you'll be so exhausted by the time the show happens that you'll not be able to enjoy it. Assembly line is the way to go though but I can't imagine cutting all those out in one day much less sewing them together! You are Super Woman!!

    1. Hi MA:
I'm taking breaks during the day to pay attention to Tag, the girls, and the kitty girls...or lunch. I sleep like a log these days, too. The assembly line sewing is efficient, but the cutting and prep work makes me bonkers.
      Thanks for your kind words.

    1. Hi Bonnie:
Not as quickly as I like. These particular bags have a lot of fiddly pieces and prep work. They're taking much longer than I expected they would. Good to know for next year's show. Thanks for your kind compliment.
