Two More Finished...

Brynwood Needleworks.- Everlasting - Flower Sprig Box 1

More needlework over the weekend, resulting in two more completed blocks in the "Everlasting" set. For this one, I substituted the mustard blooms for a soft lavender.

You can see the difference in the flower centers. I stitched the bouillon knots, but then added Colonial knots around the center. I'm happy with this one!

Next up was the Tulip Block from PG Wool Box 2. These colors are recurring colors in the design. Some of my favorites, too!

I think the only thing I did differently were the leaves. I used a running stitch, instead of the stem stitch in the leaf centers. I admit, it looks more like a back stitch on the wool, but I assure you, it was stitched as a running stitch. Everything else remained true to the pattern.

Tag will be back tomorrow. Oh, boy! Is he in hot water! I'll let him tell you about it. I'll be back on Wednesday.

  2. Two more nice blocks - and I like the addition of the lavender, I guess because I've never been a fan of mustard colours.

    1. Hi Maggie:
I've seen the whole finished quilt, and the mustard is nice in the piece, but like you, I'm not a fan either. When the blocks came as part of the installment, I hadn't seen how they'd come together. I chose colors I preferred, and I'm happy with my decision. (It was only on two blocks, too, so it's not a huge shift from the original.)
      Thanks for your note!
