Tuesdays With Tag - Meanwhile, Last Week On The Farm...

Brynwood Needleworks - One Of Our Fetching Sessions

Hi, Everybody!

I'd like to tell you it was just another usual week on the farm, but hey. Is it ever just another week on the farm? Almost neveerrrr!

Well, yes, we did engage in a little group fetchin' with Dad. It all started when Carly sneaked into the barn and stole one of the retrievin' dummies off Dad's work bench. She came runnin' out with it, and the fun began. We ran and ran and ran. It was glorious!

Brynwood Needleworks - Dad's Truck

Dad's all excited because his truck hit a mileage landmark (200,000 miles) last week, so he asked Mom to take a picture of it...and we got to be in the picture, too.

Actually, we rode along with Mom and Dad to go to the drive-in for dinner, and they took the picture after we got back home.

Brynwood Needleworks - Dogs Love Trucks

I think the Labradors look a little silly, but I think I actually look dashin'!
We were glad to be in on the picture. I mean, DOGS. LOVE. TRUCKS!!!

Brynwood Needleworks - Crystal

So, there's an update from the Compass Barn, too. While Claudette has been away at the "Rescue Home For Unwed Mothers", seems her son had his way with her daughter, Crystal. Crystal is um...expectin' babies, now. (Mom wouldn't let me use the term I wanted to!)

Mom had plans to take that naughty boy to the veterinary to get tootered, but he must have caught wind of her plan, and he been makin' himself scarce. Miss Shelly sees him on their security cam, but he's mostly sowin' his wild oats around the neightborhood and avoidin' Mom.

In the meantime, Mom's made arrangements for Crystal. She actually loves that she's tamed this shy girl, and would love to keep her, but Dad isn't fond of cats, and she's worried Carly or Boo might hurt her. Claudette comin' back is goin' to be all Dad can tolerate in the Cat Department. Plus, Mom wants Crystal to be able to sleep on some little boy or girl's bed at night when it's cold outside.

Brynwood Needleworks - Crystal Loves Baby Belly Rubs

So Mom scratches Crystal's big belly when she goes out to feed her, and when Claudette comes back to the farm, Crystal will go to the Rescue for Unwed Mothers, and then be placed in a lovin' forever home when her kittens are big enough to go to new homes, too. Don't ask Mom about it because she can't decide if she's happy or sad about that.

Brynwood Needleworks - New Kid On The Block

Word must get out about Mom bein' a kind-hearted woman. Just when we thought we had this all figured out, another cat shows up! Sheesh. You'd think she could catch a break. She grew up with cats and actually loves them all, but she can see Dad's point of view, too, and he gets a say, too.

We think someone dropped this girl off in our neighborhood. She's much too friendly and sweet to be a community cat.

Brynwood Needleworks - Pretty Face, eh?

She just showed up in the barn one day when Mom was feedin' Crystal. Crystal started hissin' and snarlin' at her and she didn't even care! She just stood there eatin' Crystal's food. She didn't even snarl back! She was just as calm as could be. Mom's puttin' out food for her, too, now.

So Mom is tryin' to find a new home for her, too. She's not in the least bit feral, and she deserves to sleep on somebody's bed, too. We're gonna try to make that happen. Mom's called her Dusty, even though she's got beautiful lime green eyes.

So, that's how our week went last week. Never a dull moment around these parts. We kind of like it like that.

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...
"Corgi On, Corgi Strong!"

  3. Tag, you do look dashing! Bolt loves to ride anywhere, but his brother absolutely hates a car or truck. If he has to ride, we all have a nervous breakdown from his hysteria! Seems like the cats have found a loving lady. I’ve never been a cat person, but I had one who chose me, and now he lives inside and acts just a dog.

    1. Hi Miss Andrea!
I bet that's one lucky cat at your house! Sorry you got a pup who doesn't like rides. I can't even imagine.

  4. I think kitties have a sixth sense when it comes to know who will take care of them. Glad you and the girls got to have a celebratory truck ride with Dad and Mom.

    1. Hi Miss Maggie:
Mom thinks so, too. Even though Dad's not fond, she "kinda" talked him into lettin' at least Claudette stay here. Maybe he'll let Dusty stay, too. At least Crystal and her babies won't be livin' on the streets (well, actually more like in the fields and woods around the farm). She'll be safe.
We'll definitely keep you posted as we know more.

  6. Tag dear it looks like your dog domain is quickly becoming a “cat house” excuse the title. Mom looks very happy to have the kitties come to her. 200,000 miles on Dad’s truck is amazing. Keep on waggin...

    1. Hi Miss Sherry!
That's pretty funny. Cat House. bahahaha! She's happier about havin' them around than she wants anyone to really know. We know she loves us, but she's got a heart big enough for all of us.
No worries. I'll keep my nubbins waggin'.
