Brynwood Needleworks - Primitive Gatherings "Thread Catcher" |
I made another one of the projects from my latest Primitive Gatherings Wool Box (#13). I love this one, too! This is my completed Thread Catcher. The kit came with the pattern, a piece of flannel (for the interior), and a piece of wool (for the exterior).

The pattern says to personalize your embellishments, but Lisa suggested (and her pattern shows) wool pennies on the flaps. I chose pennies on two flaps, and coordinated them with my embellishment for the third flap...
Brynwood Needleworks - Primitive Gatherings "Thread Catcher" BW Needle Keep Detail |
I wanted to use one of my Brynwood Needleworks needle keeps on the third flap. Now, not only will my little thread catcher hold my stray scraps, but my needle keep with also handle my needles-in-waiting.
I really had fun making this, and my mind is already working on different ways I'll make more of these. I may even offer some in my shop. Perhaps a little embroidery? Glam it up with a little bling? I'm sure I'll be revealing my ideas soon.
Very nice. I love the fabric.

Thanks, Catherine:
DeleteThe wool and flannel came in the kit with the last Wool Box. I'm definitely going to make more in other colors!

Cute thread catcher. I have one that shape, although made of cotton. It gets used every day. And now it has a new needle keep. Thanks so much!!
