Tuesdays With Tag - Goin' To The Birds...

Brynwood Needleworks - My Beautiful Boy

Hi, Everybody!

It may not look like it, but I'm real busy right now.
Even in this picture, I'm like a duck...quiet topside, but paddlin' like crazy underneath.
Are you confused? Keep readin' and you'll get it soon.

Mom saw this picture on FaceBook from a friend who shared it. Seems a guy named "huskymika" makes these things to share with friends. Do you know what this is? It's a bird feeder filled to the brim with dog hair...so birds will have it to build soft beds in their nests. Isn't that a genius idea?

Mom has decided that we're gonna make one or two for the birds that hang around in our woods. I thought it was a great idea. I mean, I don't use all my fur...I leave it lyin' around all over the house, too. (Just ask Mom!)

Brynwood Needleworks - Tag and Bella

I'm gonna get back to makin' fur! (That's what I meant when I said, "peddlin' like crazy underneath".) The cardinals are already busy, busy gettin' ready to make baby birds. We need to get me brushed and fill up bags full of my downy soft undercoat, so Mom can fill up those feeders!

It's all on my shoulders (and fuzzy pants), 'cuz Bella, with her sleek, black fur won't be any help at all fillin' fur bags! When it comes to keepin' the birds around here happy, "Frowzy Rules"!

I'll see you again in seven! 'til then...

  1. When the weather is good here in central Oregon I always brush the Demon Spawn (sometimes know as Max the puppy) while setting on the porch. Between his abundant fur and our constant breeze (20 mile an hour counts as a breeze right?) I think every nest within 10 miles have a bit of his "generous" nature in their nest.

  2. Tag you are such a giving and loving Corgi Cutie. The birds will be so grateful. I was just watching a big Blue Jay trying to tear little branches off of my Saucer Magnolia trees and wondered what the heck? I bet that Blue Jay would be ever so thankful to have some of your Downey soft fur to surround baby birdies. Great ideas...come from Tag!

  3. Hi Tag Cooper and Max here... Mom read your post and we are getting the brush tonight. Great idea my friend. She already puts soft yarn out for the birds.

  4. Duncan got a brushing last night. I also did it out in the yard so the wind could carry it away. Here in Kansas, it has been windy 9 days out of 10 for the last three weeks, I think. I could probably fill one of those holders just with one trip around the living room with the vac! He's such an indiscriminate shedder! :(
