I've been blog friends with Kris Young for a long time...almost as long as I've been blogging myself. I love seeing what she's doing, and get over to her blog to visit as often as I can. Kris is the creative force behind Lavender Quilts and Other Fineries blog and designs.

On a recent visit, I saw that she'd created this lovely "I Pledge Allegiance" quilt and was having a giveaway to celebrate her new design. I left a congratulatory note for her and wished everyone good luck in the drawing.

Imagine my great surprise when I received a note from Kris to tell me I'd won! Me!!! I was so excited!

My "I Pledge Allegiance" kit arrived in the mail today, all the way from the great state of Utah! I almost opened the package as I walked with the dogs back up to the house, but I waited until I got back to the studio. I danced with delight when I opened the envelope!

Look at all the gorgeous fabrics that Kris chose for her design! I think they're perfectly wonderful and will make up into a really fabulous finished quilt. I can't wait to work on it, either. I think this will be my project for Nifty 50s.

I've placed my own Brynwood acorn embroidery on the front flap, so you know it's made by me.

Inside are twelve credit card slots, two currency pockets, a zippered coin compartment, and a security tab for the center section. You might notice that my new exclusive Brynwood Needleworks acorn fabric lines the interior.

You can see the shoulder strap is completed, but this wallet will also include a coordinating wristlet and key fob.

I commissioned my own zipper pulls, too. What's more appropriate than an acorn leaf to continue the theme?

Last, but certainly not least, is my Brynwood signature on the backside of the clutch...which is completely enclosed in one of the delicious Portuguese cork fabrics that recently joined my fabric lineup in the studio.

This wallet will be listed in my Etsy shop and I'll be taking custom orders. A feature not shown here, but available to clients, will be the addition of a monogram. I will embroider it to the front or rear of the wallet at my client's request for no additional charge.

I'm so excited with this new wallet...the beginning of a line of exclusive fabric selections. I'll be sharing additional designs in the next few weeks - as soon as I can create them! (I'm waiting for hardware right now.) Sometimes waiting is the hardest part!

My Leaves And Acorns...

I'm so excited that my custom fabric arrived! It features the acorn and oak leaf element from my Brynwood logo. This logo has been my identity for the past thirty plus years. These are my leaves and acorns. They're a part of me...like an old friend.

Good ol' Spoonflower came through with flying colors. I had my design(s) printed on organic cotton sateen, and I love its quality and hand...soft and smooth. I chose these two colors on purpose. They'll be perfect for my planned projects.

Destiny and I got together yesterday and she helped me scan my logo elements to create custom embroideries, too. (Have I told you how much I love my Babylock Destiny?) I'm in awe of what this machine can do for me!
