Labor Day 2022...

As we celebrate our traditional "end of summer" holiday, we'll be taking a moment to thank all
the men and women whose hard work and sacrifice made our country the place where we can
enjoy our freedom with pride. Enjoy this time with family and friends, and above all, stay safe.

From Our Family to Yours,
Happy Labor Day!

  2. I must admit celebrating Labor Day (beyond the meaning behind it) isn't something I've ever done. When I was a kid I hated it because it meant going back to school and now I still hate it because it pretty much spells the end of summer.

    1. Hi MA:
I know exactly what you mean. I sat on our porch with Claudette and Crystal, thinking that we'd have to put the outdoor furniture away soon...and wondering how I'd get these two girls through another cold winter. (Don't tell anyone, but I'm seriously thinking about bringing them inside for the winter!) I'll be cleaning the potting shed, insulating the whole area and making new, insulated quarters for them, just in case they need the space. They already have heated bowls for food and water, and a platform for their beds. I'm just going to "kick it up a notch" to make it as luxurious as a barn can be for them.

  3. Sherry of createology: Thankfully we have stores (like Costco) closed in honor of Labor Day. I fear the true meaning of Labor Day has been lost with our newer generations. I am eternally grateful for all who fought for our Freedoms. Today we will continue to have Summer with 110F temps.

    1. Hi Sherry:
We stayed home and enjoyed the temperate weather. It was sunny and in the 70s. I even sat outside with Tag, Claudette and Crystal for a while. I'm glad some of the stores closed so workers could celebrate their day with their families. I can't even imaging 110º. I'd be "hurtin' for certain"! Please take care of yourselves, and stay safe. Temperatures like that are dangerous!
