Another Guild Project...

I've really struggled with whether or not I would participate in the next guild challenge for our group. You see, I'm the one who volunteered to come up with the theme and along with my friend, Janet will be tallying votes and awarding winners.

But Kathy and Nora said they thought I should enter a piece, too. In the end, I've decided that I'll participate so that my piece can also appear in our guild quilt show in February 2014...and it will be fun making an entry, too!
The theme that Janet and I came up with is "At The Movies". There is a specific size for the quilts, just like last year, and then there are only a few other requirements. There can be no words on the quilt, and there can be no naughty images.

We're awarding 1) First, Second and Third Place - voted on by the members; 2) Member who guesses the most correct movie titles, and 3) Most Recognized Title quilt.

We have so many talented women in our guild that I know the competition will be fierce. I asked Handsome if he had any ideas, and of course he did! I loved what he came up with, so I started it while I stayed in my sweats today, coddling my sore lip.

I've completed one element of my quilt today, and will work on the other major elements soon so that I can start my sewing. I'm using the same technique as our large guild quilt project, so I get more practice with my techniques. It's due at our November 21st meeting. So, do you like my little sneak peek? You knew it was going to have a musical connection, didn't you? Are you singing yet?
After much thought, I removed the "no pin" code from my blog. If you see something you like here and would like to pin it to Pinterest, you can now. I hope you'll credit my blog when you do. Thanks!
