Derailed...

I had so many plans for the past two days, but you know how it goes. You run an errand or two, come back home, start on something, get distracted, start on something else, and the next thing you know, it's time to make dinner and another day is in the archives.

That's how my last couple of days have gone. I've managed to finish...nothin'. zip. zero. nada.
I have spent what seems like forever joining two rows of granny squares to start assembling my cardigan. It's looking good, but it's not any further down the road than that. Am I a little frustrated? Uh, huh. It's ok. You know me. Never one to stay down, I'll pull up my socks (figuratively, of course. It's already too hot for socks!) and just keep after it. I can already tell it's going to be a neat sweater.
You might like to visit The Daily Corgi today, too. Fezzik would have been one year old today, and Laurie has put together a little memorial for him. It's meant to be happy, like he was, so please don't be sad. He made us laugh every day and I hope today's images make you smile at his memory.

  1. Donna, I visited Laurie's blog and watched the video of Fezzik swimming. Such a sweetheart he was. I'll admit to a few tears, but I believe his mission was to bring joy. Have a wonderful day and I hope you get everything done you want to! Twyla

  2. Dear Donna: What a very sweet tribute by Laurie honoring Fez. I read every word, viewed every photo, watched Fez swim and I filled your pool with more of my tears. He was truly a sweet boy. Yes, time does get away from us and far too quickly it is time for chores...never ending chores I say. Your sweater is looking beautiful. Just think you will have it ready in plenty of time for fall when it is chilly. :o)
May you have a most relaxing weekend. Mr. C and I were to participate in a Foreign Car Show fundraiser for our little town however it is raining...again! DRAT! No car show for us.

  3. Welcome to my world! I could use some company over here on the "side tracks". Lots started, lots thought about, nothing completed.
I loved seeing little Fezzik again. So sweet, and never forgotten.

Of course I will go over and see this memorial for Fezzik. How sweet of her to do this.
Think of you often wondering how you are.
I finally got to do my Memory Lane Monday. I do enjoy those.

  5. I went to see that little clown. What a joyful yet sad tribute. Its OK to be happy and sad at the same time you know.

This morning the recycle collection truck came. I turned to watch for Jack to come out and be crazy. He hates trucks. I was sad he wasn't there, but joyful in the memory of how much fun he was.

  9. Translation from Lany:"Hello dear,

Not always in life, everything goes as we want, but that is no reason for discouragement, ... we live day after day ... that's what I learned in this life ....
I love your square is beautiful, and I love the colors .... great ...."

Thank you, Lany. I would answer you directly, but you're listed as a "No comment blogger". Sorry.

  10. Oh, I have had SO many of those days myself. You feel so frustrated afterwards. But thankfully they are few and far between. What a wonderfully kind thing your friend did for Fezzik!!!! A sweet homage to the sweetest pup. :)
