Brynwood Needleworks - Schmitz' Sweet Stitches "May Day"

Just in time for the start of a new month, I'm ready to stitch out "May Day" from Kathy Schmitz' Sweet Stitches series.

This one has four little bees that will buzz around the flowers, once they're created. I'll be putting this design onto the scroll bars so I can get right to it.

"Peter Cottontail" is just waiting for the eggs to be fused into the basket, and he's finished. I'll take him off the scroll rods today and add the final touches. Nine designs down. Three to go. I can see the end in sight.

Note: You might notice my reference to Three Dog Night's "Pieces of April" in the title. In case you haven't noticed yet, I love using song titles for many of my blog captions. In the lyrics for this particular song, the refrain kept repeating in my mind as I wrote this post: 

"I've got pieces of April, I keep them in a memory bouquet
I've got pieces of April, but it's a morning in May..."

 Hi, Everybody!

I hope you're ready for this week's treat...a brand, spankin' new video!

Last week, Mom, Dad, Padfoot and I were hangin' out poolside. We were all tryin' to relax, except for herself, who was whinin' and carryin' on 'cuz she wanted to swim and fetch.

Mom tossed the retrievin' dummy for her a bunch of times, and then she put the thing up on top of her wood cabinet on the lanai. Well, The Black Dog kept jumpin' out of the pool (soakin' wet) and runnin' over to the cabinet, where she shook about three hundred gallons of water all over the wood...then she'd sit there, whinin' some more for that stoopid dummy.

Mom decided that she'd toss it a couple more times and then put it on the waterfall, where Bella sure wouldn't get it, and it would keep more water off her cabinet. (That was a laugh.) After about two whole minutes, Bella had that all figured out. Our video shows you how she solved this problem.

Brynwood Needleworks - At The Ballgame

 

We hadn't attended a Stone Crabs game in quite a while (for no good reason). I really enjoy baseball, and I think it's truly Handsome's favorite game (second only to his shareholder status for the Green Bay Packers - See the cap he's wearing?). 

 

We originally took this picture to send a text to our sport-crazed grandson. He giggles that Grandma and Grandpa take selfies to text to him. (I know. We're dorks!)

 

I learned the basics of the game in grade school, but have since learned the subtle nuances and elegance of the game from my husband. I love seeing the game through his eyes.

From the National Anthem, all the way to the final out, I'm completely engaged. Something about guys in uniform, you know? Although, I do admit, I find myself wondering, at random moments, who cleans those uniforms, and how the heck do they get that red clay out of the fabric?

Brynwood Needleworks - Play Ball!

I also love people watching, and that can be pretty interesting at a ball game. If you sit with young families and couples, I guarantee lots of smiles. There was even a tiny baby at this game. Guess Mama and Daddy want to get him started early! He was adorable in his mini jersey.

Charlotte Stone Crabs played against the Ft. Myers Miracles. We won 2 to 1, in a 4 hit game. There were fireworks scheduled afterward but the dogs were waiting for us at home, so we left as soon as the game was over.

We decided we're going to add a few more games to our schedule this summer. I'm already looking forward to our next trip to the park!

Handsome's final concert of the season was yesterday afternoon, too. The crowd was enthusiastic and appreciative. The music was wonderful, and it was another fine day spent with patrons and musical friends.

Today, I'll be working on that video Tag told you about last week. If I don't finish editing it so he can post it tomorrow, I'll never hear the end of it! Better get back to business.
