The Tree of Life Dessert...

Brynwood Needleworks - The Tree of Life Dessert

I had an appointment in Sarasota yesterday, so my sweet friend Amy, and I met up for lunch afterward. She picked a great, little Mexican restaurant this time.

Brynwood Needleworks - Amy

Amy is a transplanted Wisconsin girl, too, and I love spending time with her. We laugh and talk about our current projects, what we're planning and all things artistic.

We always share photos of our grandchildren with each other, too. She has the prettiest granddaughters, and of course, she got to hear all about my grandson and granddaughters. (We're both understandably proud.)

We ended our lunch by sharing a dessert. In this case, a treat the restaurant calls, "The Tree of Life". Chocolate gives life, right? Whipped cream, cocoa powder, chocolate sauce and two perfect brownie bites. We agreed that they must have been deep fried...and they were delicious! They were crunchy, with nearly liquid centers. (Is your mouth watering yet?)

We laughed as we remembered what is still our most favorite lunch together (which I wrote about HERE when I first started blogging). What is it about "deep fried"? I guess it's a good thing that we only had two small bites.

Needless to say, I didn't get much accomplished in the studio...as in, nothing. I'll be making another client acorn pincushion, and shipping orders today.

It's going to be a busy weekend, preparing for our upcoming trip, so I'd better stop dawdling. I have things to do.

  1. Very sweet to spend time with your transplanted Sarasota friend Amy. That dessert looks interesting...but too tiny! When it comes to chocolate I need lots more than that!! Yesterday I was helping out at the Chamber and mentioned to another gal how it was my Chocolate time of afternoon...that lull between about 2 pm and 4 pm. Not 10 minutes later another one of the gals handed us each a chocolate treat and said it was Thursday Afternoon Chocolate Delight time. Who Knew?!! She didn't even hear what I had said. Oh how I do love chocolate...any time of the day.
