Spring Fever...

Vintage Ferry Seed Co. image.
If you live in the north, you're probably sick and tired of snow and cold.
In Florida, this time of year brings cooler weather, but it's still warm most
days and our northern snowbirds can still be found wearing swimsuits.

I'm not much of a gardener. I love the look of a well-tended garden, but
I prefer to create a riot of color in the studio. Most plants around Brynwood
need to thrive on my neglect, because I tend to love 'em to death. Just a fact.
I'd much rather look at beautiful gardens than attempt to create them myself.
Image from a Hans Christian Anderson book.
So, if you're a gardener, know that you have my sincere admiration.
I'm sharing two images for you to dream on.
I chose both of these because they have something in common.
They both have hollyhocks in them, and hollyhocks are a personal favorite.

Just remember that Spring is just around the corner and you'll
be out basking in the warm sunshine before you know it!
Happy Saturday.

  2. Good Morning Donna, Hollyhocks make me think of my childhood and making Hollyhock dolls. The beautiful color of them. I will be glad when Spring is here. We are having rain and it is 45 degrees this morning. Our snow is melting, but it has not melted all of the way. Have a wonderful day and enjoy your Saturday. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend.

  3. Lovely pictures that make me think about my garden. I love to garden but am often torn between working outside and spending the day in my sewing room. We watched our first baseball game for the team my son coaches yesterday, very cold but there was a hint of spring with sun giving a bit of warmth.
