Tuesdays With Tag - He's Immune...

 It's me...Tag!
We've been home since last Thursday and
I'm gettin' back to my "home" routines.
It's definitely different being in our house than in the Flying Cloud!

 Take breakfast time, for instance.
If I'm with Mom on the Flying Cloud when we're traveling,
Dad is usually already out to rehearsals or classes
by the time breakfast rolls around.

On those occasions, Mom might surprise me with a
little schnibble of something leftover from her meal.
All I have to do is just sit up like a good boy and
concentrate really hard 'til she realizes I'm literally
starving right there at her feet!
She tells me what a cute boy I am and
before I know it, she's slipped me a tender morsel.
Sometimes, I never even see it coming!

At home, things are quite different.
You can see in these pictures that I'm almost dead.

I tried the "cute" face. No luck.
I lay down like a Sphinx and then concentrate my formidable
corgi powers to send him a "feed me" vibe. Still no luck.
I'm convinced Dad's immune to "cute corgi".

He has strong thoughts about slipping meal treats to dogs.
Dad says you end up with a Food Mooch if you give them people food.
Huh? No way I'm buyin' that!

There are lots of things I like about being home,
but I have to admit, I like getting my people food treats on the road.
sigh
I guess I'll just have to dream about the "old days"
until we take off again on the Flying Cloud. 'til then...
"More Waggin' and Less Barkin'!"

  1. Hey Tag - Don't believe a thing your Dad says about creating a Food Mooch. My Pollie loves a people treat too but she also knows the term "no begging"!! Works for us!! LOL!!! Have a great week at home!!

  2. Ours do the sad eyes, the laying of the head on the knee, just about anything short of barking or whining, the only difference is it's my hubby who caves and gives them people food:)

  3. Poor Tag, You would have loved our house as I was growing up on the farm because that is what you got people food. My daughter's gets to clean up the floor if something gets dropped when they eat. Wouldn't you like that. Their little one just happens to drop something for his puppy. HeeHee. Have a great day. 4. Poor Tag..........you can come visit us. We have it down to a science. We lie on the floor with our paws and noses just barely touching the edge of the diningroom rug. When Mom & Dad get up to clear the table we take up our positions on each end of the 'L' shaped kitchen. We each get one nibble of a people food for trying to guard the area against the feline of the family. She usually gets by us but we're rewarded for our efforts anyway.....Bryn & Dolly

  5. Dearest Tag,
Most excellent dead dog interpretation!! The exposing of the undercarriage really adds authenticity to your performance. Keep up the great work!
    Have a better day.
    Always, Queenie

  6. Somehow I believe you are too well trained after Pooch Boot Camp to become a food mooch. I have heard it is not good for your little tummy to eat people food. However with that face of yours I would certainly be sharing my yummy food with you. My BooBoo kitty loved people food and ate Oreos with butter on top with her daddy as that is his favorite way to eat Oreos. At least the butter helped keep her fur coat glistening. =^_^=

  8. Sorry Tag,
For being so late at reading your post. I just can't believe you could not wrangle a treat with that great show you were putting on. Next time a few soft whines followed by a paw to the eye, will usually get them to looking...then while you have their attention a soft sigh should get you a treat....I could make you up a sign, "Will work for food" but that seems a bit obvious. Practice in front of a mirror, you will soon be getting treats all the time!
