Just Another Domestic Goddess...

Thinking of Valentines Day...
as I spent the day ironing - after using and admiring my new washer and dryer. I love the smell of clean laundry, my Egyptian cotton spray and the sight of all those pressed and folded clothes.
Don't feel bad for me. I really enjoy ironing, but I still get tired rather easily since my surgery ten days ago. (No worries. I really am doing much, much better!) Check out my new machines. The Kenmore twins are wonderful! We got the Oasis washer and dryer, which are very quiet and efficient. They were delivered yesterday. The front load washer that previously occupied this space rattled the whole house during the spin cycle. I wasn't even aware that the new washer was finished running until it sounded off! Worth every penny, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm hoping to get back into the studio this week. We have house guests coming soon and there are things to do as we prepare for their arrival. For now, I'm enjoying my Domestic Goddess status.

  1. What fun! A new washer and dryer will likely be our next big purchase, and I crave a washer that doesn't rattle and roll the whole house.

I need to find me some of that Egyptian Cotton spray, might make up for not having Egyptian Cotton sheets. :-)

  2. Ahhh - a new washer and dryer!!! There are times I wonder if my washer is going to take off at any moment. I remember the days as a kid that my mother used to have my brother and I sit on the washer to try to level it so it wouldn't "walk" across the floor. We loved it - probably the only times I actually looked forward to laundry day :)

  4. I just don't even know if a new w/d would make me like laundry. But I am curious about that spray! Give us the scoop!

  5. If you are really enjoying the domestic goddess role I've got about 4 loads of laundry I would love to send your way :-)
We had to buy a new washer and dryer this past fall...the new dryer dries in about 1/2 the time as the old dryer...I guess I never realized how inefficient my old washer and dryer were.
I must comment that you have a very clean, organized laundry room!

  7. I thought I was ht eonly one who loved the smell of clean laundry! After it's all neatly folded I always give it one last sniff before putting it away. I also love to iron, strange I know but it's such a meditative thing and the whole laundry thing just feels like my little way of nurturing my family!

  8. When we first moved here, we bought a stackable washer and dryer for our narrow closet. The washer was front-loading. I have never heard such a racket - I was always afraid it would come right out the door. After much going back and forth with Lowe's, we traded them for a top loader.

    Much better.

  9. donna, i too enjoy ironing and the order doing laundry puts into life .. it is relaxing .. same as cooking a good meal .. i take pleasure in simple things like high thread count sheets .. clean clothes .. the smell of good coffee brewing .. life will find a way to heal us all if we can just be still and listen .. i look at those times as allowing my soul to heal .. and cherish them ..
thank you .. and i am loving the kenmore .. i have always had 'previously owned' machines and they have always been kenmores .. but i see a new set in my future ..

  10. I love your new washer and dryer. It makes me want a new one. Although all of my appliances are Kenmore. They make the best or at least that is what I think. Take care and don't over do.
