Have a look at some of my silver "pretties", and then head over to Betty's blog (by clicking the Silver Sunday photo) to see who else is participating.
These were my own baby utensils. I learned to feed myself with these exact tools. British children (of which I was one), learn to use a knife properly by practicing with the pusher to feed themselves. I just love that my mum saved these for me. (Thanks, Mum!)
My set of sterling silver British apostle spoons. Each spoon in the set has a figure on the end of the handle meant to represent one of Christ's apostles. This set has 12 apostle spoons and sugar tongs. I believe a complete set would also have a "Master" spoon, which would represent Jesus. I searched long and hard to find a set of twelve and found them in their original case on eBay. It was only later that I learned there were sets that included the thirteenth spoon. (You can click here to link to a photo and information about a complete 13 spoon set.)

ReplyDeleteDonna, I love your baby spoon & pusher. I had never heard of a pusher before but, think it is wonderful that we learn so much from each other. And the set of spoons are facinating. Do you know about Replacements Unlimited? They can help you find missing pieces from set of silver, china or crystal. Might check to find that 13th spoon.
