Bella's Big Day...

There was a hurdle to overcome yesterday. Taggart. Little Man of the House. The canine in charge. She needed to win him over. Once that happened, she'd be in like Flynn.

She had no problem looking like Her Royal Highness as she watched Taggart from a distance. Better safe than sorry.

She just stayed on the rug for the longest time. She was in no hurry, and she became fond of this particular rug!

Then, without warning, it was Game On! She and Taggart ran through the house while I reminded him to be gentle with the puppy.

Most times, little dogs can get away from bigger dogs by going under things. Unfortunately for Bella, most places she could go, so could Tag. Except one place. She could scoot under the sofa and Tag couldn't follow.

All she had to do was lick Tag's face and he was ready to go another round. They played for quite a while.

They played until both their tongues were hanging out. They shared a bowl of water - at the same time! (That's actually great, because it shows Tag is accepting her.) Bella was also pool-proofed today, but we're saving that video for later.

I didn't get photographic proof of just how much Bella likes this table. Each time I got down to take her picture, her head popped up.

She positions herself in just the right place and rests her head on the table. She's knocked the magazines off multiple times, but Handsome just puts them back in place (to set her up for next time).

By the end of the day, we had two tired dogs - who decided to accept each other - and were exhausted from assessing each other and all that play. All in all, it was a very great day. We're looking forward to what today will bring. We're off to a great start.

Tuesday With Tag - Public Service Announcement #5 - Thanksgiving...

Hi, Everybody!

It's been quite a while since I've done a Public Service Announcement. I

figured the upcomin' holiday would be as good a time as any for my next one.

Holidays can be dangerous for your dogs, cats (sigh) and other pets. It's easy

for us to get into stuff when you're busy payin' attention to your family and 

guests. I'm askin' you to think about these things ahead of time to keep 'em safe.

Let's start with #1. I admit I have trouble with this one. I like bein' close in case somethin' hits the floor, but Mom makes sure I'm backed out of there when she has to move hot pans from the stove or oven to the sink or counter. She said she doesn't want to trip over me, or spill anythin' hot on me. Good thinkin', Mom!

#2. There are a few things Mom lets me have, but she's careful not to give me rich stuff. Kessie had pancreatitis for the last six or seven years of her life. She had to take medicines every day and sometimes had to go to the vet because she had bad belly aches. I don't want that to happen to me or my friends!

#3. Do we even have to discuss this one? NEVER leave alchohol around where your pets can reach it, and never, ever knowingly give it to them! (Did I say "never"? I mean it!)

#4. Don't let your dog or cat be a garbage animal. Mom freaks out whenever she reads about dogs gettin' into garbage. Come on, you guys. Take the garbage out and put it in the bin. After all that food, you're gonna need the exercise!

There are foods that can really be harmful - and even kill your dog - if they eat it. I'm not gonna go down this list. If you've gotten this far, I already know you can read it yourself. (You can click on the picture to make it bigger.)

Don't worry, though. It's not all bad news. There are actually things that we can have! I'm tellin' you, a few of these are personal favorites! I'm quite fond of sweet potatoes, beans, carrots and apples. But remember, just like for you, its possible for us to have "too much of a good thing". "Moderation" is best.

I'll be hangin' out to make sure I don't miss any of the fun on Thanksgiving. I want all my friends to have a good time, too. I might even be back again later in the week to say, "Hi". You just never know!

Just in case, I'll wish you a Happy Thanksgiving now.

We couldn't close out my corgi art post without an

image of our biggest fan...Queen Elizabeth II.

She has loved our breed since she was a young girl.

I think that's one happy corgi. Don't you agree?

I know that if you have a dog (or even a cat!) you love your pet.

Even if it isn't a corgi, you're blessed to be loved and trusted by

the animals who share your life. I know how much Mom and Dad

love me, and I'm pretty crazy about them, too. I mean, they feed

me and let me sleep on the bed with them - and when it's time to

travel, they take me along so I'm not lonely without them.

I hope you enjoyed my little art show today.

Sunday Scripture...

I went looking for scripture to support seeing our beloved pets again in Heaven. I believe that we will be reunited - not only with all the loved ones who went before - but also with all of the pets who made our lives joyful here on earth.

"The Bible does not give a definitive answer on the question of whether we will see our pets in heaven, but it does say, "... with God, all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)" That's good enough for me. I found also this story to share with you.

I like the story about the elderly widow whose beloved little dog died after fifteen faithful years. Distraught, she went to her pastor.

"Parson," she said, tears streaming down her cheeks, "the vicar said animals have no souls. My darling little dog Fluffy has died. Does that mean I won’t see her again in Heaven?"

"Madam," said the old priest, "God, in his great love and wisdom has created Heaven to be a place of perfect happiness. I am sure that if you need your little dog to complete your happiness, you will find her there." (Jack Zavada Click here to read his article on the subject.)
