Embroidered Wedding Roses...

Brynwood Needleworks - Red & White Rose Embroideries

I completed the embroidery I started over the weekend. I chose the colors of roses that I carried when I married Handsome for this one. I think this one is my favorite of all I've done. It's definitely a favorite among the Facebook friends who've seen it.

When I shared it on my personal and Brynwood's Facebook pages, one of my friends said she loved it because she and her husband always exchanged red and white roses. Red for passion, and white for truth. I really love that, but never thought of the language of flowers when I chose what I wanted for my wedding bouquet. How appropriate for a wedding, though, don't you think?

Brynwood Needleworks - Auditioning A Frame Option

I'm not sure if this one will be listed for sale, or if I'll keep it myself. I know I'll do more in this color combination for Possibles Bags, and perhaps in other applications.

I'm toying with the idea of framing this one, so I grabbed a small shadow box frame and set it up to try to visualize this treatment. Maybe an oval frame would be better? I haven't cut my linen yet, so I haven't committed to doing this. I'll think on it a while.

I started a paint project in the garage yesterday. I'm going to continue that today, and I'll share it all when I finish. I have taken "before" images, so you'll be able to see where I began, and how it ends. More on that later.

Time for coffee, and a few morning chores, and then off to the garage. See you tomorrow!

  3. It’s really pretty with those colors. I like the frame you show and think a small wedding photo of the two of you to the right of the stitches in the curve - cutting the photo oval - would be a great addition.

  4. Another thought I just had (I know - I'm over-taxing myself!) but....if you had more of those frames you could finish the stitchery as a pincushion that could either stand up on a sewing table OR be hung on the wall. Looking forward to seeing what you do next!

    1. Hi MA-
I’m not sure I want to put pins in this one, but I could do that with another one. Thanks for the idea!

  5. This is truly beautiful. White Roses for Truth and Red Roses for Passion. I think an oval frame would fit wonderfully. Happy Stitching my friend.

    1. Hi Sherry-
I loved the language of flowers for this. I may reference that in future projects, too. Thanks for that.

  6. Oval or even better would be a circular frame if you could find one that worked. It is really lovely and if it were mine I would keep it. You had a possible bag with yellow roses which is what I carried when Jim and I married. It was sold before I had a chance to even try for it. Sigh. Your flowers are really so beautiful.

  7. It's beautiful! You must keep it for yourself, and a great idea to frame it.
