More Needle Dancing...

Peace Lily Mug Mat
I played in the studio on Saturday. I just couldn't help making more mug mats! Scraps from the Flying Cloud quilts, for the Peace Lily mug mat...
Coffee Break Mug Mat
...bits of this and snippets of that.
Vintage laces and printed twill tapes...
Birds of a Feather Mug Mat
beautiful hand-drawn artwork from other talented hands...
Nesting Mug Mat
...and the occasional image printed onto cotton fabric. Then, I top it all off with the meandering quilting that I like to call "needle dancing". All these things gathered together as I spend the day joyfully turning fabric scraps into heartfelt gifts.

I think that I've finally fine-tuned my own design style for my mats now. I hope that when you look at one of my pieces, you'll be able to say, "Yes. I can tell that Donna made that one."

How did you spend your weekend? I'm working on creating just the perfect giveaway gifts for my Second Blog Birthday. Be sure to come back tomorrow to find out all about it!

  1. You do amazing work, I am in awe of you and so jealous too!

I spent my weekend grocery shopping on Saturday, church on Sunday, and in between those two major events cross stitching and crocheting! We had a rough week last week, gravity was our enemy for my Kaitlyn and I, so we had to spend a lot of time (Thursday through Sunday) resting as much as possible so that we could deal with another week. We hope gravity will be our friend this week. ;0)

  8. Oh yes, you definitely have a signature style and it's present in all your work, not just your lovely little mats.
Your quilting is so perfectly neat and almost tailored in it's execution, and the needlework is always the same - from the colour choices to the right embellishment or detail, they all speak of you.
And I love that term "Needle Dancing" - love it!

  9. Your style Donna is always so elegant...in everything you say and do. These mats are exquisite in every detail. You amaze me with all you accomplish in a day. I merely grocery shopped, cleaned the house, did some yard clean up and turned the clocks forward. Yay for more evening daylight. Happy week ahead...
