Colorful Quilts, Talented Quilters...

Last night was our monthly meeting for the Disconnected Piecers Quilt Guild in Port Charlotte, FL. I took my camera along this month so I could share a few photos from the Show & Tell portion of our meeting.

Flo's quilt took four years for her to make. Someone asked her the name of the pattern. She replied that she didn't know because she lost the pattern three years ago! Funny girl.
The gal who made this quilt (on the left in this photo), is now our Guild vice-president. (Our guild president is on the right side of the photo.) I love the colors in this quilt, which she said was made completely from scraps from other projects.
I love the colors of this quilt! The maker (on the left), assembled the background and then pieced and appliqued' the gorgeous birds.

They're truly stunning!

The same talented quilter made this quilt, too. The story is about runaway pineapples...again appliqued' onto a pieced background.

This is my friend, Kathy, who co-owns Sandy's Quilt Shop with her sister, Nora. As I've said before, these two sisters named the shop in honor of a sister who died all too young. She loved to quilt.

The daffodil kit is a fusible project, and the hanger is included with the cost of the kit. They're available through their shop.
This quilt only uses three colors (with the exception of that one yellow section in the center), and the effect is impressive. I really like this sampler quilt.

This is the last quilt I'll share today. I also love this one. So many beautiful colors, all complementing each other for an elegant finished piece. The lady who made this quilt (on the right of the photo) hand quilts all of her creations. I'm in awe.
