The Dolphin Island quilt is completely finished. It's ready to ship when it comes time to package up and send our Christmas gifts off to their destinations. I've set my projects completion date for December 13th. That will leave plenty of time for all of our gifts to arrive on time to the special people on our list.
Yesterday, I started (and nearly finished) my next project. These are the fabrics I chose...one chenille cutter bedspread, and cotton soft, yellow floral cotton fabric.
I'd like to assure you that the "cutter" bedspreads came to me with tears or damage. I just can't bring myself to ruin a perfectly good item, so I'm going to be selling three of my vintage chenille bedspreads next week. I'll tell you more about that in a future post.
This is a detail of my current project. It was actually all assembled by 5 pm. You can see pins in the areas where I'll need to topstitch. I "fussy cut" the motifs, so they would be placed where I wanted them on the bodice front and back of this garment.
Once I topstitch the facing edges, I'll sew the sleeve lining to the sleeves, sew on my covered buttons, and then finish by hemming the bottom. I'll finish this one today.
Apparently, all the hustle and bustle of elves in the studio was a little too much for a corgi to bear. My supervisor decided to go on break. Hmmm. Sleeping on the job. No bonus kibbles tonight! (Just kidding. How can I deny this face?)
The lucky recipient will be delighted with your quilt. Isn't it a great feeling to make for all the special people in your life!
ReplyDeleteSmiles, Angela.
Can your elves come over to my house to help??? I could use a little push over here to get everything done!
ReplyDeleteLove everything you make!!

I can hardly wait to see the finished project!
ReplyDeletePoor little Fez, all tuckered out from watching mommy work.
I also have an old chenille bedspread that is all one color (yellow) and have been saving it for just the right project so I am interested to see what you end up creating!
Have a great creating day...

Your finished dolphin quilt is just wonderful and so appropriate for a lad. Very intrigued with the chenille wearable. Just a little power nap is all Fez needs. How is Kes doing these days? Happy creating...
ReplyDeleteOooo! Pretty! I can't wait to see the rest!
ReplyDeleteLove your finished quilt too. Those elves have been busy!
Why is it that our assistants are always sleeping on the job? Good help really is hard to find!

Hi Donna, Your quilt will be loved very much. Those special little people love things made specially for them. I will be anxisous to see the picture of what the next project. I think we all have a bedspread that is special. I have one that was given to me by my grandmother that is an off white. Have a great day my friend. Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteNot only are you talented, you are efficient. I wish I had just an ounce of each! The quilt is wonderful and is going to make someone very happy and proud and warm. The little dress looks pretty darn cute with just a peek. Can't wait to see the finished piece. And I thought it was going to be something else. ;-)
