Moving Right Along...

I spent yesterday playing with my cool, new iMac and working on Christmas gifts. I'm currently knitting the second half of a beaded fringe scarf that I should finish today. I'll photograph it as soon as it's done to share with you.
I also started work on this lap quilt from my gift list. Can't say more or I may giveaway who the recipient will be. I'm going to use a vintage chenille bedspread for the sashing and the backing. No, it's not a first quality vintage bedspread. It's what's called a "cutter" - meaning that it has a hole or two in it - making it more useful in pieces than as a whole.

So this girly quilt will have these sweet patchwork pieces, surrounded and backed with cuddly chenille. There will be batting between the layers and then pretty cotton binding. I'll be doing the machine quilting on this one myself. Of course, I'll share a photo with you when it's all assembled!

Handsome has a concert tonight, but I'm only taking a camera this time. I still have music to download from my video camera, so I don't want to add more before I deal with those precious snippets. You'll have to settle for still images, if I post them from tonight.

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes and sweet compliments. You're really all too kind and I'm so lucky to have you in my life.

  3. Beautiful quilt, I still can't wait to try the jello cookie recipe (thanks for that!)! I think the girls and Wade might fancy cherry flavored cookies...

  4. Love your beautiful quilt. My mom makes her quilts in much the same style. There isn't a baby quilt out there that she has made that doesn't contain chenille on it! The fabrics you chose are beautiful! Happy Birthday, late. I have been up to my eyeballs with Christmas projects, and so haven't been making my rounds lately. Have a great week. Can't wait to see that scarf!
