After a full day of (for me, arduous) work, this is where my mind is today. I got the dogs out for a bit of romping, made coffee, and Handsome and I are currently enjoying our morning cuppas.
My knee hurts. My shoulders are sore, and my mind is weary. I'd love to stay in bed and sleep, but I'm too achey to be comfortable.
So instead, I'm going to sip my coffee with my feet up, be grateful for another day, and not complain. I'm going to simply "be" for a bit, and decide where the rest of this day will lead me.
If you're feeling the same, know you're not alone. You're never alone. Someone you may not even know loves and cares that you're here. It's okay to just "be".
Have a blessed, peaceful day, my dears.

This is so true. Learning it more everyday as God has placed me in rest mode for a bit. Charlene in Phoenix.
ReplyDeleteHi, girlfriend!
DeleteSorry I haven't been in touch. We need to catch up! Let's chat soon.

'Just be' is sometimes a whole lot easier said than done - at least for me. I can't seem to sit still and do nothing, at least not for more than ten minutes at a time.
ReplyDeleteHi MA-
DeleteSame here! Handsome just kept reminding me to sit yesterday. I tried more than once to start some grandiose project, but he just kept talking me down. At the end of the day, all I accomplished was helping make a homemade pizza for dinner. sigh

Donna
I'm with you on the 'just be'.
ReplyDeleteThere is no time, good or bad that is ever wasted, we learn from it, recharge and tomorrow is another day for a new adventure.
It's my time to reflect on just how thankful, grateful and so very blessed my life is.
I'm not a machine. And even a machine needs occasional maintenance.
Shirley
Hi Shirley-
DeleteIt's a good lesson to learn, especially these days when a day is frequently measured by how much is accomplished. (So much to do. So little time.) I need to be reminded that doing nothing is valuable, too. I like your word "maintenance". I'm going to remember that.

If we don't take time to just "be", then we will never really be able to accomplish anything... or at least to accomplish it well. After all, God did give us the example...a day of rest.
ReplyDeleteHi Lois-
DeleteYou're so very right, dear. I'm too often motivated by needing a subject for my blog post. Isn't that crazy? I need to remember that this place is where I get to visit with my friends every day. Sometimes friends just talk, and that's valuable, too. I hope my friends agree. Thanks for the reminder about a day of rest.

Donna
Thank you for your heartfelt post. Just what I needed for today! Bless you -- Kathy
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy-
DeleteThank you for saying so. I'm always concerned that posts like these don't matter. I appreciate knowing that they make a difference for someone. I know that one of these days, I'll shut down my blog. For now, I'm glad that friends still care enough about what I write to continue to visit.
Hugs,
xo
Donna
I hope you had a restful day.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we just need to do nothing.
Marilyn
Hi Marilyn-
DeleteI absolutely did. Handsome made sure of it (thankfully). Hope you had a good day, too.
