Tuesdays With Tag - Ridin' In The Rain...

Taggart The Handsome - October 11, 2021
Hi, Everybody!

My pictures this week pretty much cover it. Mom took me on a road trip - and it was rainin' the whole trip. It was so great to go with Mom, but rain makes me sleepy. Does it make you sleepy, too?

ROAD TRIP!!!

Well, instead of takin' a nap, we hit the road. Not for real. It's just a figure of speech. She strapped my harness on me, and then strapped me onto the seat belt thingy. We were on our way.

Where We Goin', Mom?

So, as long as I was  goin' with her, I thought it would be nice to know where we were goin'. She said it was just gonna be a short trip. Sure.

Another Stop

It seemed like we were in the car for forever! We stopped at the Primitive Gatherin's store to get Mom's newest Wool Box. Then we went to the glasses store. (Mom didn't choose any this trip.)

Then, we stopped at the furniture store so Mom could see the sofa sample like the one she and Dad picked out. (They're waitin' for it to get made and then delivered.) She came back to the car with a spring in her step. She found out that the completion date for us has changed from November 15th to November FIRST! Mom was so excited! Instead of waitin' six weeks, it looks like it will only be three. I couldn't wait to get home to tell Bella and Carly. We're gettin' a new couch! WOOO HOOO!

Are We Home Yet?

The excitement was short-lived, 'cuz we ended up in the car for another couple hours while Mom made stops and I waited. Then, after all her errands were done, we still had about 5,000 miles to drive before we got back home. There was a silver linin' in the rain clouds, though.

Mom stopped at Culver's and I got to have a couple french fries. That made up for all the nap interruptions. Culver's fries are the best

We got home, and told Dad all about our excitin' news. Then, Dad looked at the clock and told us it was dinnertime for Boo, The Kid and me! BOOYAH! After we ate, I told the girls the good news about our new couch. They got excited, too.

Well, the day spent with Mom was fun, but I was really glad to get back home again. You know the old sayin'...There's no place like home. (Just don't call me "Toto".)

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...

  2. Fun day and Culver’s too! We just a Culver’s in Macon this month. Cheese curds are our favorite. Glad your furniture is coming in soon. We’ve been waiting since February and still no furniture!

    1. Hi Miss Andrea:
Mom was thrilled when our Wisconsin-based Culvers finally built stores in Florida. One was right down the road from us. It was awesome! Mom ordered their butterfly shrimp and fries on our outing. It's one of her favorites, and she doesn't share those with anybody except Dad. She (and we) loved cheese curds, too. Sorry you're havin' to wait on your furniture. Mom would be more than a little irate to wait that long - especially with the current lawn chair in our livin' room. Hope yours comes soon.

    1. Hi Miss MA:
I think so, too. I like runnin' errands without The Girls sometimes. Mom and I get to have special conversations, too. Of course, we're not speakin' tonight, 'cuz I ran away when she was takin' the groceries in the house. I was gone for about an hour before she found me. She was really miffed, so I'm back on her "list". She said a couple naughty words 'cuz I'd gone down toward the road. I guess I can't really blame her for worryin' about me, especially when she explained about the possibility of me endin' up like a furry pancake if she hadn't found me. I was pretty scared by then, too. I'd like to say I wouldn't do it again, and Mom knows that, so she said I'm gonna have to go out on a long leash for the foreseeable future. Rats!

    2. Well Tag - I shouldn't say this, but in this case you are most definitely going to have to be kept on a short leash for awhile. Just think what could have happened if the girls had followed your example and what could have happened if they'd gone onto the road. Short leashes are what happens when you're naughty.

  4. Tag you really did have an adventure. Mom really appreciates you being with her. Yay on the new couch delivery. We are having some nice slow rain today which we really need.

    1. Hi Miss Sherry:
No kiddin'! (read what I wrote above to Miss MA, I really had an adventure today!). Mom likes me ridin' around with her, but runnin' off? Not so much. We can't wait for the couch to get here. The Girls and I are hopin' we get to sleep on it! It's been rainin' here for a week. I'm a little tired of feelin' moldy. lol
