Button Bouquets...

Button Bouquets - The Original and My Version

I managed to get a little playing in two nights ago. I couldn't wait to share this sweet project with you!

Inspirations Magazine - Issue 111

I recently received the latest issue of Inspirations Magazine. (I have a subscription, I love this periodical so much!) I adore the cover project (the little macaron coin purses, but the kits to make them are a little lot expensive. Even so, there are plenty of projects between the covers, and the Button Bouquets are just one of them.

Inspirations Article and Instructions For Button Bouquet Projects

I didn't have the larger rings on hand, but I did have some that are just a bit smaller. They'd have to do, because I wasn't going back out to get larger ones. I even love the projects they share for utilizing the Button Bouquets once you've created them.

My Version

So, I sat down and chose my materials to make one of my own. I have another idea how I'll use mine, but that's for another time. I don't think it's bad for a first effort. I'm already looking forward to choosing new colors to make more. (I'll get larger rings soon enough.)

  1. Hi Donna,
I also subscribe to Inspirations Magazine. Also their weekly newsletter All Stitched Up. It’s fun to read. I have purchased some of their kits. They are beautifully sourced and put together. You may be surprised at how much you save with your Inspirations 15% discount and the currency exchange. It turns out to be quite affordable. The only issues is it takes a while to get to the states.

    1. Hi!
I also get their weekly newsletter, and love that articles and projects from them. I guess I hadn't considered the exchange rate when I looked at the discounted prices. I'll do that, because I'd love to make one of the little coin purses. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I wouldn't mind waiting, because I've got plenty to do in the meantime.
      Thanks again!
      xoxo

  3. Oh how pretty!! I saw those in their newsletter (the macarons too!) and thought they were beautiful. I remember my grandparents having something somewhat similar hanging from their roller window blinds as a 'pull'. Not as pretty as these of course!

    1. Hi MA:
Yes! That's where I remember seeing them, too! The little rings are so simple to cover and make pretty. I'm sure you'd love making them, too.
I'm in love with those little coin purses. I'm going to revisit the kit and figure out the exchange rate.

    2. I remember seeing a tutorial for something similar (but didn't have the bead work) online somewhere but now I can't remember where it was. Perhaps try to 'do a google' and see if you can find it?

  4. Hi again,
One more comment Donna. Have you been to the Inspirationsstudios.com website? Subscribe to All Stitched Up. In the newsletter there is a section where you can showcase your work. All you need to do is snap a photo and write, which you do so well, a comment about your work. I am not saying they show all the work they receive, but I am sure your work will interest them.

  7. Those button bouquets are delightful. Why am I not surprised that you subscribe to Inspirations? I have a number of the smocking magazines that used to be published by the same people. They really do print some inspiring projects.
