Tuesdays With Tag - Bella, Coming Of Age...

Brynwood Needleworks - Taggart
Hi, Everybody!
Did you have a nice holiday weekend?

Mom tells me that this holiday kinda used ta mark the official end of summer in Wisconsin. The way this summer has gone up there, I'm hopin' that there's a little more warm weather for our northern family before the snow flies. They kinda got short changed for hot and steamy this year, ya know?
Brynwood Needleworks - Liljegren's Suncoast Bella
Anyway, this weekend marked the official start of Bella's comin' of age. She and Dad went to Jupiter on Friday so Bella could go for trainin' to Uncle Mike's. Mom and I stayed home this time, but we'll definitely be goin' next time Dad goes to visit her.

She's gonna be learnin' all her important stuff while she's there. She'll learn everythin' I did, but she'll be getting more retriever trainin' - because she is a Labrador retriever, after all.

She went through orientation with Uncle Mike on Friday, and she's already well on her way to bein' a super water dog. (I hope she tells Uncle Mike that swimmin' with me in my pool got her a long way down that road!)

When she's all done, she'll be another example of the stellar trainin' comin' out of Mike Sommers Sporting Dog program. Like me! She is also part of Uncle Mike's impressive breedin' program, but I'll save that story for another time.
Brynwood Needleworks - Tag Loves To Cuddle
So, what am I gonna do without her? snort! Like that's gonna be hard to figure out. I started by cuddlin', without interruption, with Mom on Friday night. There's more where that came from, too!
Brynwood Needleworks - Tag Loves His Breakfast Snack
...and I'll be moochin' my breakfast Frosted Mini Wheat(s) from Dad without her hornin' in on my action.

Dad was always real careful that she didn't see me getting my morning treat. (He only wants her to have "approved" snacks, and not people food. We won't say what Mom thinks, but suffice it to say, I'm glad I'm her dog!)
Brynwood Needleworks - Tag Knows How To Chill
Oh, and I know this isn't a very modest pose, but I like sleepin' like this. Do you know what happens when I sleep like this and Bella's around? Let's just say she's always buggin' me when I'm tryin' to sleep. Puppies like to do stuff like that.

So, for the next eight weeks or so, I'm gonna be free to do what I want (as long as it's okay with Mom and Dad). No Bella drinkin' all the water out of my dish. No Bella stealin' my water retrieves. No Bella jumpin' on me while I'm tryin' to sleep. No Bella...cuddlin' me when I'm lonesome. No Bella...playin' with me when I get the urge to FRAP. No Bella...sigh. No Bella.

I miss her already...and if any of you tell her that, I'll deny it up and down, all day and night. I'm a little wistful right now. I think I'd better go. It's gonna be a long eight weeks.

I'll see you again in seven! 'til then...

  1. So cute!! Bosco gets a frosted mini wheat everyday too...but so does Tyson. They actually get upset if I make eggs.

  2. Take full advantage of this time on your own, Little Tag. The time will pass all too quickly and the Bella Girl will be back to pester you. Keep in mind that she will be bigger when she returns! xo

  3. Enjoy your mom and dad time. With the time flying the way it is Bella will be back before you know it. My grandson's corgi Shorty likes to sleep the way that you do. Have a great day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend Shirley

  4. Tag you are such a sweetie and I could just tell you are gonna miss that Bella puppy! It will be nice for the most part to have your domain back and be the sole attention getter but then there will be those moments that you will wonder how your little sister is doing and if she is missing you as much as you miss her. So FRAP with Mom while you can and do lots of Corgi Cuteness to fill up each and every day. Smooches...
Maybe you could pawscribe a postcard to Bella and surprise her?!!

  5. Tag, I know you will miss Bella but I will never say a word. As you say there are some advantages of having her away. Have fun being an only for the next 8 weeks!
