Brynwood Needleworks - Wooly Critters Seven In Progress |
I went to Nifty 50s yesterday and took along Block Seven from my Wooly Critters Sampler Quilt to work on. I did get quite a bit accomplished while visiting with the girls, and it whet my appetite to complete this block.

I came home and continued stitching through the afternoon, and then into the evening after dinner with Handsome.

By the end of the evening - midnight, to be precise - I set the final stitch and called this pretty dragonfly block "finished".

Rather than simply attach each element with the blanket stitch, I decided to add specialty stitches, too. Colonial knots, blanket stitch variations and a little loopy stitch - secured with back stitches - added more interest to the block.

Block Eight features a little fuzzy lamb. I'll be setting that one up next, but not right away.
I have another new commission, a few dresses to go with our delivery next week and a couple of quilt tops to finish. I love being this busy! For now, I'm happy with the final result for Block Seven.
I did notice your addition of fancy stitches right away and they do add interest and dimension. Lovely Woolen Block. You certainly are busy and creative dear. Blissful Studio Days...
