It Was A Great Day...

Anita Goodesign Diamond Block created in the hoop
Fifty of us gathered yesterday for an Anita Goodesign Embroidery
Party at the Charlotte Sewing Studio in Port Charlotte. I saw guild and
retreat friends and met a few new people. Most of the time was spent
using their Bernina or Viking machines to create a few take-home items.

The first thing I learned is that I really love (and prefer) my Miss Ellie!
I guess I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Babylock devotee, and I'll be glad to
try the same embroideries on my own embroidery machine.

We worked in teams of three on each sewing machine and created
four different projects in the hoop. I did the Diamond Block above.
One of the other ladies made a cute rectangle block with a button
motif that I thought would make a great mug mat. The third piece
was a corner motif stitched onto a napkin, and the final piece was
a tag to identify a roll of stabilizer. I was a bad blogger because I
didn't stop to make photos of each piece. I guess that means I
really was having a grand time! I hope I don't get fired off this gig!

I'm really glad I went. It got me fired up about doing more
projects from the design files I already have. Some might even end
up as Christmas gifts this year! It's almost time to make my list.

Today I'll be working on my silk ribbon embroidery projects.
So many ideas...not enough hours in the day.
My glass is overflowing!
