I'm Ready...

I'm ready for the "Paws & Whiskers" guild competition.
My entry is complete. I finished it yesterday afternoon.

My design was inspired by an art card I purchased last year.
It's a watercolor image created by David J. Rogers.
I fell in love with the image the instant I saw it, but I
adjusted it so it had the same markings as my muse.
It measures 25" x 28", which is well
within the guidelines for the competition.
Our pieces will be judged on November 15th,
and I promise I'll tell you how it's received.
It's my tribute to my first Corgi -
my sweet Fezzik.
 I've called it
"For The Love Of A Corgi".

It was a true labor of love, and
although it would be fun to win a 1st Place ribbon,
the satisfaction from creating something
in memory of Fez is really enough for me.
Winning would be the icing on the cake.
Don't forget!
Today is the last day to enter my 900th Post Giveaway.
I'll chose a winner this evening and
announce the lucky name tomorrow.
Good Luck!

  6. Donna, what a beautiful tribute to Fez. It's strange how often I think of him. I'm a 'cat' person, but somehow he caught my imagination. I think it was the gleeful way he jumped in and out of the pool. He stole my heart, and now we have Tag, who looks like a real character, too. Your quilt is gorgeous. If your frinds in 'blogland' had anything to do with it it would be a sure winner. Blessings

  8. Hi Donna,

Your quilt is just beautiful!!! What a great way to share him always. My husband and I were talking about Fez the other day. We really enjoyed him and his weekly posts.

I do have to say that we also now look forward to Tuesdays with Tag.

    Good luck with your quilt!

  9. Gosh, I just feel certain that you are going to win! For me, it feel inevitable because its FEZ. But, no matter. The ENTRY was not the importance of this piece.

Winning Energy sent to you along with one long hard hug.

  10. Oh my goodness, Donna...I remember when you first showed me that card! You've done an amazing job of capturing the likeness of Fezzik. He was such a fun loving bundle of joy. I will always remember him running full tilt to join you & I & Steve outside, tongue flailing & tail flapping! Its a wonderful visual of your sweet little poochie.

The wall quilt is just PERFECT! BRAVO!!!

  15. That's adorable!!!! And the love and stories behind it just make it all the more special. I know the judges won't know that part, but they should be able to see it in every stitch! I hope it wins big - it deserves to! :)
