Yesterday, I opened the doors to my fabric cabinet and
pulled out all the fabric I've collected from this Moda fabric line.
It's called The French General, "Rouenneries".
Isn't this collection wonderful?
I really love the colors and patterns. Each lovelier than the last.
I started cutting - large squares, small squares, fabric strips -
and began arranging and sewing, and I even un-sewed a few!
I accomplished quite a bit yesterday, and had great fun
working without a pattern. There's a certain freedom in
not following a set diagram or having to work to a specific size.
I'll be in the studio again today, and we'll see how far I get.
I'll share photos of my progress tomorrow.
Hope you have a happy and creative day!

ReplyDeleteHer line of fabrics is so beautiful, I can't wait to see what you make. It will be something delicious for sure!!! Of course you should have it finished by the time I write this message....ha ha you are so fast!
I have several of Kaari's books, they are just lovely to read and even the pictures are fabulous. Did you buy them from her website or in a fabric store?

I love that line too - and bought every bit I could find. I have only made thing with it so far, a table runner, but I was very happy with how it turned out. I hope you'll post pictures of your creation!
ReplyDeleteI love those fabrics! The reds are so pretty. Can't wait to see what creation you will come up with.

Oh, I can't wait to see what you're making out of that lovely fabric. I've got a lot of it too and it's almost too pretty to cut, but I guess that defeats the purpose of what it's for, right?
ReplyDeletePretty swoony!
ReplyDeleteHey, you'd be proud of me...I sewed my first stitch this past weekend, woo hoo! ;-)
XO,
Anne
