Finds For The Farm...

Brynwood Needleworks - Farmer's Market Galvanized Sign

I found something perfect for our Wisconsin farm kitchen!! I'm so anxious to install it there once our kitchen is finished, but I couldn't wait to hang it until then. I decided to put it up in our southern kitchen until I make my next trip to the farm. It will go with me when I go back again.

I found the sign at DecorSteals.com online, and knew I had to have it. When it arrived, I it was everything I hoped it would be. It's large, made with distressed, galvanized metal to look old, and I love it. It will eventually hang above the double kitchen windows at Hickory Hill Farm.

(As an aside...I noticed Tag photobombed this picture. Can you see him?)

Last fall, I found this piece at Pier One. It's about twenty inches tall, and may have been inspired by The Brothers Grimm folk tale, the “The Town Musicians of Bremen". It's also installed in our Florida kitchen until I go back to the farm.

We had our yard company here yesterday for their annual work day. Three strong, young men come and remove errant branches, palmettos and other brush to tidy up our yard. They also gave the jasmine a severe haircut and removed the not-so-pygmy date palm from the pool deck. (It was pushing up against the screen enclosure for the pool and wouldn't have transplanted very well.) Next up is to have the pavers power washed. That will happen soon.

I'll take photos later today and then share them with you tomorrow. You won't believe the change! It looks wonderful.

  2. I see Tag! Love your new Hickory Hill Farmhouse sign and the statue. Your vision is coming to life...even in the South. It always feels so good after the yard guys spend a day working the land. Terrific Thursday Dear...
