Look What I Found...

Let me start by saying, "Yes. Using my current stash is at the top of my priority list." I'm still participating in the year-long Destash-Along event hosted by Missie at Crafting With Cat Hair. BUT...and this is a BIG BUT (I know, now you're singing "I Like Big Butts"! lol) I saw this yarn and had to own just one skein of it.
It's called Handspun Bouquet from Pagewood Farm "U-Knitted Nations" in a natural/tan combination. This yarn looks like partially spun wool roving, and it has these darling dangling flowers that hang along the length of it. I know it's going to be a cowl. I know it's going to be warm and girly and scrumptious. I can't wait to knit it up on some honkin', big needles. Perhaps 15s or 17s will do the trick. I'll know once I make a swatch.

First, I'm finishing my Beaded Shawl and can't wait to show you the finished piece tomorrow or the day after. Then, I'm going to make the cowl! I think I should finish it while it's still unseasonably cold here in south Florida. And, if I don't immediately put it on and wear it until it warms up around here...it will move to the Boutique. Can't wait to finish it, so I can hear what you think I should do with it.

  4. Can't wait to see what you knit with your new yarn. You'll whip up something gorgeous for sure. I love the natural look of it. Looks like they just spun it off the sheep. Then turned it just a bit and that's what you have! I sure like your style.

  10. I wish I could find some creative energy. This not getting outside because it's too cold thing is getting really old. Particularly because I moved to a place where it's supposed to be warm most of the time! Good for you though!

  11. Hi Donna, I was referred to your blog by Paulette, who said you are very sweet and talented and you ride a bike too! : ) So I bopped over to see... I immediatly spotted "The Great Hog Invasion of 2009" and clicked on that in hopes of getting a look at your Harley... Well I did find your beautiful blue Harley elsewhere!
    Nice to meet you!
... and yes lovely yarn too!

  12. Your new yarn looks so soft and I will be anxious to see what you do. My daughter and son-in-law did a bike show over the weekend. Her bike took first and his was second. Their little boy thought they should have taken his battery operated one to. I am looking forward to seeing your beaded shaw. Take Care
