New In My Shop...

Brynwood Needleworks Flower Cowl - Natural/Tan Version Detail

It was a perfect day to knit at the farmhouse. I made a beautiful wool cowl to wear as a fashion accessory, or as a cowl with your winter coat.

This is the natural version, with tan and peach-tone, and deep green leafy wool roving flowers. I also have a black/fuchsia version available.

This is the actual version I knitted today.

I'm sharing these photos from the same wool, knitted and photographed when we still lived in Florida. This specific one already sold, but it gives you an idea of how the cowl sits on your shoulders, and of the size.

Brynwood Needleworks Flower Cowl - Natural/Tan Version - Side

This is the side view.  I designed this cowl pattern, and it was sold through Pagewood Farms, who manufactured the yarn. Their yarn is now discontinued, but I have a few skeins left in my inventory, so I decided to knit it into my cowl design for those who don't knit.

You can see from the back view that the roving flowers are interspersed all around the cowl, so it's pretty from any angle.

If you're interested, you can find it in my Brynwood shop HERE. I'll be making the black version soon, too. This one is ready in time for Valentine's Day, and the cold weather we're currently enjoying experiencing in Wisconsin!

Look What I Found...

Let me start by saying, "Yes. Using my current stash is at the top of my priority list." I'm still participating in the year-long Destash-Along event hosted by Missie at Crafting With Cat Hair. BUT...and this is a BIG BUT (I know, now you're singing "I Like Big Butts"! lol) I saw this yarn and had to own just one skein of it.
It's called Handspun Bouquet from Pagewood Farm "U-Knitted Nations" in a natural/tan combination. This yarn looks like partially spun wool roving, and it has these darling dangling flowers that hang along the length of it. I know it's going to be a cowl. I know it's going to be warm and girly and scrumptious. I can't wait to knit it up on some honkin', big needles. Perhaps 15s or 17s will do the trick. I'll know once I make a swatch.

First, I'm finishing my Beaded Shawl and can't wait to show you the finished piece tomorrow or the day after. Then, I'm going to make the cowl! I think I should finish it while it's still unseasonably cold here in south Florida. And, if I don't immediately put it on and wear it until it warms up around here...it will move to the Boutique. Can't wait to finish it, so I can hear what you think I should do with it.
