DAY FIVE - FINAL DAY...

I'm going to do this in my best Charlie Brown teacher's voice...WAAAH WAAAHHH. I'm sad to see the celebration come to an end. Choosing gift packages every day has been so much fun for me! I'm just sad that there can be only five winners this time.

So, with that in mind, I'm revealing the gift(s) for DAY FIVE of my 16th Blog Anniversary celebration...

How would one lucky winner like to receive their very own travel sewing case? You'll remember how I recently shared that I'd learned about turning travel jewelry cases into fun sewing cases. Well, when I purchased two cases recently, I had this giveaway in mind.

Here's the (I hope) best part...The winner of this gift can choose to have it sent directly to them as is (I've already removed the ring holder part in the center of the lift-out section), OR we can collaborate and I'll fit it out for you in the theme of your choice.

That means, I'd work with the winner choosing trims, colors, fabrics, etc. and I'll include a Brynwood magnetic needle keep as a bonus. If the winner chooses to embellish their case themselves, I'll still include the needle keep, and add some trims that can be used or not.

So, sadly, this is the final giveaway day and gift. If you've missed entering any previous days, you have until Saturday evening at midnight to enter.

As I mentioned before, I'm sharing the rules each day of the drawing to avoid any confusion.  Also, remember you can click on any of my blog images to enlarge them.

It's My SIXTEENTH Blog Anniversary!...

When I typed out my first post on March 15, 2009, I never in a million years thought that 1) I'd have a single person interested in anything I might have to say, and 2) that I'd still be at it SIXTEEN years later!

What I've found is a loving blog family, built through all these years of sharing my thoughts with you, and you leaving daily comments for me, too. I admit there have been days when I've seriously contemplated shutting this all down and fading off into the sunset. You've all been so kind to me, and encouraged me to keep doing what I'm doing, so here I am.

Well, I can tell you today that I still have a thing or two to say, and I'm still happy to share my creative endeavors with you. While that remains the case, you can count on me to continue to write my daily posts.

So to celebrate, beginning Monday, March 15th and ending Friday, March 21st, I'm going to post a giveaway each day. If you like what you see on a given day, simply leave a comment on that blog post to be entered into the drawing for the item(s) in that day's post. You can enter once per post, but you can enter every day. Comments on this post will not count toward drawings that start on March 17th.

These are not "domestic only" drawings either. It doesn't matter where you live, but if there are tariffs or taxes due, the winner will be responsible to pay those.

Come back on Monday and I'll reveal the first giveaway item. I'll reiterate the terms each time, so I hope you don't get bored with that. If I don't already have your address, winners will need to get them to me. Restful Contemplation...

Brynwood Needleworks - Wooly Stitching

 

So many things going on right now. I don't need to mention them to you. I'm sure you have a list of your own. If nothing else, being home is a time for thoughtful contemplation and finishing projects that were set aside. 

 

It's a time for long distance talks with loved ones, and for opening up to new possibilities. Even as the world is forced to build barriers, there are instances where walls tumble down. I sit and think on these things as I continue to embroider my border panels. Did I mention that there are so. many. leaves.? sigh

I'm going to keep working and contemplating. I hope you've found a project to keep your hands and mind occupied as we move into a new week. I'll be right here if you're looking for me. You can count on Tag to be back tomorrow.

That Special Touch...

I'm having a grand time in the studio these days. First, I finished those projects that have been sitting for a while, and now I'm able to work on the giveaway gift for Carol.

I'm only going to show a few photos today. I have more to do, but I'm not going to finish every single page. I'm leaving space so that she can put her own personal touch to the book.

I'm stitching laces and beads, and I've included some of the colors Carol told me are her favorites.

I'm sewing in sweet elements that are dear to my winner, too. Everything that I'm using is from my own supply of beautiful drawings (by Michelle Palmer), charms and trinkets, and assortments of vintage threads, ribbons and laces.

I'm hoping to get this finished and on its way by the weekend. Of course, you'll get to see more photos before I send it off. Right now, I'm just having too much fun sorting through bits and bobs as I look for that special touch to add to each page.

A Facebook Giveaway...

I'm having a little giveaway on my Brynwood Needleworks Facebook page to

celebrate reaching one hundred followers there. The page is a public group, but

you need to request "membership", which (of course) I accept when I see it.

I recently won the Almondina™ Biscuits assortment giveaway, and as I'm the 

 one who eats them here, I'm happy to share some of my good fortune with you.

I made a mug mat in my favorite pumpkin fabric for this October gift. There's
even a little pocket in the green dot fabric for tucking in a little treat or a note.

  Lastly, I'm adding one of Tag's caricature pins. It's detachable, so you can even wear it if you'd like. (I know Tag would love it!) I think it's just a little fun touch.   The Brynwood group allows for all the members to share what they're working  on, and I share creative things that I find related to sewing, quilting, knitting, and everything else that's beautiful, creative and inspirational...not just my work.

Hurricane Dee...

 I really never realized just how much "stuff" was crammed into my sweet,

not-so-little armoire. Boy, was I surprised as I moved things around and 

tried to straighten up the studio again. Half of the room still looks like

Ground Zero for Hurricane Dee! I'm exhausted, but still have all of this to go.

 This is where one of the Lack Wall Shelves from Ikea was installed. (The other 

one is in our living room, and it looks fabulous in there, too!) I've placed all the 

special things that were scattered around the room onto these shelves to clear 

my sewing tables for those things that have to be close at hand when I'm working.

(I'll share close-up photographs of my shelves when I have good (no-rain) daylight.)

 So, this side of the room is cleaned up. I now have a table wide enough for 

Miss Ellie so that I don't have to move her when the embroidery unit is attached.

I also moved the television lower on the wall. I haven't been able to camouflage

the cables attached to it yet, so lowering it leaves less cable showing. I also put

acorns on the corners of it. They were created just for me when I had my shop.

 I still need drawers for some of my ribbons, tapes and fabric and these are perfect.

Many of the contents are set to be used in the near future, so they're visible and 

close at hand when I'm ready to pull them to sew. They're also pretty to look at

through the clear plastic drawers and inspire me to start sewing them right away!

So, even though I still have a way to go, I can see the end of the storm.

I think I might just have to sit and look around for a while when I finally finish.

Hurricane Dee will pass and it will be smooth sewing from now on!

 I just realized that this is post #1600. I think it might be time for a
