Girlfriend, Stacey, and I went to lunch yesterday. Afterward, we went to Valentina's to pick up the vanity I purchased for the farmhouse.

It's always a pleasure to visit with Maria, the proprietress of Valentina's. She has the most wonderful treasures in her shop...jewelry and clothing (vintage and new), furniture, and accessories.

Her shop is located near the bicycle trail on Laurel Road in Nokomis. It's just up the road from North Port - on the way to Sarasota. You'll find treasures inside and outside at her location. There's even a smaller building behind her shop that houses more furniture treasures. I really could have gone crazy back there! I needed to focus, and Stacey's no help. She encourages me to spend money!
I put on my blinders (for the most part), and paid Maria so we could load up the vanity she'd held for me, but before we left, we loaded up a few other gems.

Stacey helped me carry the vanity into my Florida bedroom, and here it will sit until we load up to head north.
On my way out of the shop, I caught a glimpse of the sweet girl sitting on the right side of this picture. She's chippy, having been broken and repaired, but I think this adds to her charm.
After looking her over, I tentatively asked Maria how much she was asking for the statue. We agreed on a price and she came home with me, too. (She really was a steal!)

As I sat, admiring her last night, I contemplated what I should name her. Hmmmm. Should I name her after someone I know or loved? Of course, there were obvious names that came to mind, but then it came to me.
"Valentina"...named for the shop where I found her. Settled. Her name shall be Valentina. I think she'll be happy at the farm, don't you?
