Tuxedo Strawberries...

A few months ago, my friend Tammy shared a few old magazines with me. I recently passed them on to one of our daughters-in-law, but not before scanning this little gem.

Those are Tuxedo Strawberries in the photograph. Aren't they adorable? Tammy gave me this specific magazine because she said she could envision me making these for a get-together with friends. She knows me pretty well, don't you think? They just make me smile - and the bonus is that they contain at least two of the major food groups (fruit and chocolate!). Add caffeine and we've covered just about everything!
If I remember correctly, the recipe came out of a Wisconsin Country Life magazine - which I really enjoyed. I thought they might be out of business, but found the company on the web. They're still printing and selling their great, down-home style magazine.

You should be able to enlarge the recipe enough to read and print it (just click on the picture). If you have trouble with the type size and can't read it, just let me know and I'll be happy to type it out for anyone who wants to make their own little dressed-up berries.

I just love little surprises like this for my friends. You're right, Tammy. I'll be making them for our Tuesday night Panera's group very soon!
