Hi, Everybody!
Wakey Wakey, Rise and Shine!!!
I figured it was about time I share my mornin' ritual with you.
It's the same drill every single mornin'.
Mom says it's like "Groundhog Day", whatever that is!
I start by gettin' real, real close to Mom.
I sleep on the bed with Mom every night. I mean,
none of this routine works if I don't start out on the bed.
As soon as I wake up (which is always before Mom)
I sidle over to snuggle with her. I don't do this any other
time of day - ever. I only snuggle first thing in the mornin'.
Hey, sports fans! I think I hear Dad makin' coffee!
He never shares with me. Says it will stunt my growth. grrrr
Mom, on the other paw, is motivated by coffee.
Where was I?
Oh, yeah. After I've bugged Mom 'til she wakes up,
I crawl right across her and flop down.
Yeaaahhhh...That's more like it.
Could you scratch just a little to the left?
Uh, huh. Right there....aaahhhhhh.
Then, in one suave move, I flip over onto my back for belly rubs.
Great way to start the day, don't you think?
Never fails. Belly rubs every day. Waayyy cool!
Mom? Are you in there? Yooo, whooooo!
What? I get the belly rubs and you doze off?
Who can I call about this?
Are you in there?
"Yes, Tag. Do you want to get up?
OK. Then, get off me." yawn
That's my signal!
As soon as Mom says, "Get off me" I jump up and wait at
the end of the bed. I'm not allowed to jump off. It's a long
way to the floor and Mom wants to make sure I don't hurt myself.
She gets up, says, "I will help you." and puts her arms out.
I move into her arms and she lifts me off the bed and onto the floor.
Once I'm on the floor, I'm ready to face the day...ruff and ready.
A quick trip to the yard and then I get breakfast!
Did you know it's the most important meal of the day?
Yup! Right along with dinner and any snack I can get my paws on.
Mom helped me write this at the end of the day.
I'm already back on my bed and fixin' to catch my
beauty rest. I might even wake up earlier tomorrow.
Or maybe I'll decide to sleep in (especially if it's rainin'!)
Come on! If you didn't have to get up on a rainy day,
you wouldn't either, would you?
Tell the truth!
I've got a full day ahead...
goin' outside, checkin' for varmints in the yard,
comin' back inside, beggin' for snacks, taking a snooze, shadowin' Mom
in the studio, checkin' on Dad (especially if he's practicin' on his drums.
I can never get enough of that!) repeat 'til it's time to go to bed again.
Same ol' same ol'...sunrise to sunset.
Just another day in Paradise!
I'm off to start the routine for today. I'll look forward to seein' you
again next week. Christmas is just around the corner and I've been so
good that I bet Santa's bag is gonna be overflowin' with presents
just for me! I'll have to wait and see, so 'til then...
"More Waggin' and Less Barkin'!"
An action-packed day!
ReplyDeleteLots of love to a busy corgi from a chilly morning here in the UK.
I know you're not keen on a rainy day, what are your feelings about a cold, frosty one? The small dogs round here have a great time, especially when they have their coats on!
Hi Tag,
ReplyDeleteBoy you sure live the life of a Prince!!! I bet Mom just loves having you for an alarm clock. My Gabby and Gizzy love doing the same thing and maybe you can meet them one day.
I love hearing about your day and I hope that you have been a good boy for Santa.
big hugs.
Sissie
Tag, I think your morning routine is just perfect! I think it's wonderful you snuggle with mom in the morning. Moms love snuggles! I love snuggling with my doggies in the morning, too, but it's harder with 3! You are lucky you have your mom all to yourself. Have yourself a nice day! Love, Twyla
ReplyDeleteTag would fit in, quite well, around here...if there was room on the bed, which is doubtful!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Tag, for the cheerful post and Merry Christmas to you and your humans!
I would say you have a very good routine each day Tag. When it rains I like to pull the covers over my head and stay in bed if the truth be told. Happy Tail Waggin you smoochin cutie...
ReplyDeleteOk...the back flip across you for belly rubs is totally hysterical! Love it!
ReplyDeleteYou've got her trained right Tag. :)
Groundhog day...seems like my life too. ;)
Oh, Tag - You are the cutest!! you have the same routine (to the T) as my Pollie!! EXCEPT one important command. If I am not ready to get up I just say "Give me 5" (that is short for give me 5 more minutes) and then Pollie goes and lies down (on the bed, of course) until I start moving around again!! Works for me!! And Pollie is VERY patient with me!!
ReplyDeleteDearest Tag,
ReplyDeleteYou have the bestest routine ever!!! Such a lucky dog dog you are!!!
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
